How To make Beef and Onion Deep Dish Pie
1 Pouch frozen sweet peas with butter sauce
(10 oz.)
1 Lb. ground beef
1/2 C. sliced onion
1 garlic clove :
minced
1 Carton dairy sour cream (8 oz.)
3 Tbsp. flour
1/2 Tsp. thyme
1/4 Tsp. pepper
1 frozen prerolled puff pastry sheet :
thawed
1 egg -- beaten
Heat oven to 400 degrees. Place unopened pea pouch in warm water for 10 to 15 minutes to thaw. In large skillet, brown ground beef with onion and garlic; drain. Stir in sour cream, flour, thyme and pepper until well blended. Fold in thawed peas. Pour mixture into 1 1/2 quart shallow casserole. Cut pastry sheet to fit inside top of casserole. Place on top of ground beef mixture. Brush lightly with beaten egg. Prick pastry with fork in several places to allow steam to escape during baking. Bake at 400 degrees for 25 to 35 minutes. Makes 4 servings.

Hey folks! Tonight for tea I made this wonderful beef & vegetable pie :) This is so easy to make, and even easier if you use pre made/shop bought pastry. I wanted shortcrust pastry for the bottom of the pie and couldn’t find any in local supermarket…so I’ve made my own because I have plenty of flour :) Absolutely delicious with mashed potato & gravy! Or try it with a few chips…like we did.

Makes one 23cm pie or 4 small individual pies
Filling -
450g (1 pound) Best quality beef steak minced beef or ground beef
1 Medium onion - Finely diced
1 Large or 2 small carrots - diced
130g (1 cup) frozen peas
1 Beef OXO cube or similar beef bullion cube
1/2 pint (1.2 cups) Beef stock
Optional Worcestershire sauce
1 Tablespoon plain or all purpose flour
Pastry -
300g (2 1/2 cups) Plain or all purpose flour
1 Tablespoon salt
150g (5.2 oz) Very cold butter
4-5 Tablespoons very cold water
1 Beaten egg or milk to glaze

This is a simply made deep dish meat pie. Very easy to make and it taste amazing.
Ingredients for pie dough
Flour(all purpose)gluten free = 500g
Butter = 250g
Nutmeg
Black pepper
Salt = 0.5g
Ingredients for filling
Oil
Chopped onions
Beef minced
Ginger powder
Pepper powder
Cinnamon
Aromat
You can use any seasonings of your choice
Beef Pie easy mince beef pie
Ingredients
500 grams steak mince
1 large onion
Half pint beef or veg stock
Seasoning
For the pastry
8 ounces self raising flour
4 ounces margarine
1/2 cup cold water.
Preparation
Finely chop Onion into saucepan
Add steak mince
Add stock
Bring to a boil then simmer for 20 mins
Pastry
Add flour into mixing bowl
Slice margarine into flour and mix into breadcrumb
Slowly add water
When combined into a dough
Refrigerate for 30 mins minimum
Roll out. Pastry and place over a deep plate or oven dish
Trim off any excess pastry
Egg wash around the edge of pastry
Pour in the cooked steak mince
Make a top for the pie place over the mince beef to cover pie
Make a small hole in the top of pie to allow steam to escape
Egg wash top
Place in preheated oven 180c 350f
Bake for 30 mins or until golden
Serve and enjoy.
