Easy Deep Dish Brownie For One - Chocolate Heaven!
Rich and fudgy deep dish brownie with a crispy top and an extra fudgy center. The only single serving brownie recipe you need!
✴️ Recipe ⬇️⬇️ & Printable Recipe ➡️
✴️ Ingredients
2 tablespoons salted butter , plus ¼ tablespoon more for greasing the ramekin
3 tablespoons granulated sugar
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
1 large egg yolk
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
¼ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Optional: Ice cream for topping
✴️ Instructions
1) Heat oven to 350°F (177°C). Lightly butter a 10-ounce ramekin with ¼ tablespoon butter. Set aside.
2) Place 2 tablespoons of butter in a small microwave safe bowl. Heat in microwave until just melted. Set aside.
3) Whisk together the sugar, flour, and cocoa powder in a small bowl until thoroughly combined.
4) Add the melted butter, egg yolk, and vanilla. Stir with a spoon or a rubber spatula to combine. Do not overmix.
5) Fold in the chocolate chips.
6) Pour the batter into the prepared ramekin. Spread into an even layer. Bake for 30 minutes.
7) Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes before enjoying. Top with ice cream, if desired.
✴️ Expert Tips
A) Use good quality chocolate chips. I recommend using brands like Ghirardelli, Guittard, Scharffen Berger. On the more economical end, I think Trader Joe's and Whole Foods' 365 chocolate chips are very good too.
B) Be careful not to overbake the brownie. Leaving the brownie in the oven for much longer than the recommended baking time can lead to a dry over-baked brownie. The brownie will continue to firm up as it cools.
C) For best results, use a 10-ounce ramekin that measures 4-inches in diameter and is approximately 1 3/4-inches tall. Many ramekins don’t have the size printed on them. Because of this, it can be hard to know exactly how large (or small) yours is. The best way to measure the size of your ramekin is to fill it with water and pour the water into a measuring cup.You can also use mini loaf pans that also hold about 8 to 10-ounces. If you happen to have smaller ramekins, use those and divide the brownie batter between them.

I finally mastered FUDGY BROWNIES! I won't use another brownie recipe again
RECIPE:
SHOP:
If you're looking for an indulgent, fudgy brownie that is extremely flavorful and not cloyingly sweet, this recipe is it! Literally one of the best brownies I've ever had! With that beautiful shiny crinkled top (which took me a while to figure out ????), and gooey, rich interior, this will be your new favourite brownie recipe!
INGREDIENTS:
- ¾ cup (105 g) dark chocolate - I use 50% dark chocolate, semi-sweet chocolate chips okay too
- ¾ cup (90 g) flour - regular, all purpose
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ cup (113 g) unsalted butter - room temperature or melted
- ¼ cup (53 g) unflavored vegetable oil - I use canola
- 1 cup (200 g) white sugar - granulated
- ½ cup (100 g) soft brown sugar - packed, see note 1 on blog
- ⅔ cup (75 g) cocoa powder - unsweetened
- 1 tsp coffee powder
- 1 tsp vanilla essence/extract
- 2 large eggs - room temperature
NOTE: In the video I mention 1/2 a cup or 100g of butter, but it should be 113g of butter as stated in the ingredients list above :)
Bake at 160 °C (320°F) with the fan on for 22-25 minutes depending on how fudgy you want your brownies to be (I recommend 22 minutes). If your oven doesn't have a fan option, then you will need to increase the baking temperature to 175°C (347°F). Once done, poke a toothpick into the center and it should come out dirty.
