Honey Gingerbread cookies????Finding Christmas
This is a great tasting gingerbread cookie made using honey instead of sugar. This recipe also works great with gluten free flour and dairy free butter. The recipe is below.
I hope to bring joy and encouragement into the lives of those watching ... and I share a short devotion at the end of each video.

HONEY GINGERBREAD COOKIES:
Ingredients: 1 1/2 cups honey, 3/4 cup butter (softened to room temp), 1 egg, 5 cups flour (I used Bob's Red Mill gluten free 1 to 1 flour), 2 teaspoons baking powder, 1 Tablespoon ginger, 1 Tablespoon cinnamon, 1 teaspoon ground cloves
Directions:
In a large mixing bowl cream butter and honey. Beat in egg.
In another bowl stir together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, ginger and cloves. Gradually add the flour mixture to the creamed butter mixture until combined.
Wrap dough in plastic wrap and chill for at least 2 hours. (I made mine the night before.)
Dust work surface with flour and roll out dough to 1/4 inch thick. Cut to desired shape with cookie cutters and transfer to well-greased baking sheet.
Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes. (My cookie cutter is large so it took 18 minutes to cook.) Immediately remove cookies from cookie sheet and cool on wire rack. (I did not use a wire rack to cool these cookies, instead I placed them on wax paper rolled out on my counter top.)

Finding the PERFECT GINGERBREAD - 12 Days of Cosplay Christmas - Preparing to make a Cookie Castle!
So in the end finding the perfect gingerbread cookie to make our castle with was very very hard. But it was a mission I set myself as part of my 12 days of cosplay Christmas and so it was going to be completed!
Out of the recipes we tried here's the final list;
Best taste but probably not castle making material is the recipe my mum has used through out my child hood-
-self raising flour ; 8oz
-ground ginger; 2tsp
-mixed spice; 1/2tsp
-butter; 4oz
-caster sugar; 3oz
-black treacle; 2tbsp
-milk; 2tbsp
Put flour ginger and spice into a bowl. Add butter and rub until it resembles bread crumbs, then mix in sugar.
Add melted treacle and milk and mix to a stiff paste.
Roll out dough and cut out cookies.
Bake at 180* for 10 minuets.
Definitely not a gingerbread cookie but the best building material is this one -
And American dirt gingerbread cookie that I will never make again -

How to Make Gingerbread Advent Wreath (Assembling & Decorating Tutorial)
It has somehow become a tradition in my family to make the advent wreath out of gingerbread cookie dough.
I made my first advent wreath a few years back and since we have made/baked one every year. We (anyone who is in charge of baking & decorating the wreath – this varies every year) try to experiment and decorate it differently or use new cookie cutters to get a unique look every time.
This is a very simple advent wreath that can be made with your kids who can also help you decorate it. Here the tea candles are baked together with cookies but you can simply glue them onto the wreath using a bit of royal icing.
