How To make Jenny's Chili
2 pounds Beef
ground
1 large Onion :
chopped
2 cans Kidney beans in chili gravy (15 oz)
2 cans Tomatoes, whole :
peeled
(16 oz) 2 teaspoons Salt
1/4 cup Sugar -- brown
1 tablespoon Chili powder
(or more to taste)
Combine onion and hamburger in skillet, cook, stirring frequently, until meat is brown and crumbly. Pour off excess fat. Transfer to large pot, add kidney beans, canned tomatoes, salt, brown sugar and chili powder. Cook slowly - the longer you can allow the chili to simmer the better it is. Add more chili powder to taste.

3 Bean Chili, Homemade Chili Recipe
Three Bean Chili
2 Tbsp oil (if cooking in a pot on the stove)
2 Cups chopped Onion
2 Garlic Cloves, finely chopped
1 large Red Bell Pepper, seeded and coarsely chopped
2 Tbsp Chili Powder
1 Tbsp Ground Cumin
1 tsp Dried Oregano
1/2 tsp Cinnamon
1 can each (15 oz each) of 3 different types of beans (such as kidney beans, black beans, chickpeas), rinsed and drained
1 Cup frozen Corn
2 cans (15 oz each) Diced Tomatoes
Salt and Pepper, to taste
For Crock Pot: Mix all ingredients together and cook until warmed all the way through. On low that's about 3 hours.
For Stove Top: Heat oil in a large deep pot over medium-high heat. Stir in onion, garlic and bell pepper. Saute, about 4 minutes, stirring often, until onion is translucent and pepper is softened. Add all the rest of the ingredients and stir. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to medium-low and simmer gently for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Makes about 8 servings.
