How To make Meatballs In Sauce with Rice
1/2 Recipe Meatball mixture
-(See separate recipe.) 1/2 c Tomato puree
1 tb Onion; chopped
2 ts Vinegar
1/2 ts Sugar
1/4 ts Oregano leaves
1 ds Pepper
2 tb Water
1 1/2 c Rice, cooked, unsalted
2 servings of 6 meatballs, 1/4 cup sauce, and 3/4 cu rice each
440 calories per serving
1. Thaw frozen meatball mixture in refrigerator.
2. Divide into 12 portions. Shape into balls.
3. Brown meatballs on all sides in hot frypan. Drain.
4. Mix remaining ingredients except rice. Pour over
meatballs. 5. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover, and boil gently
until sauce thickens
about 10 minutes. Spoon sauce over meatballs once during cooking. 6. Serve over rice.

Simple, quick and ... delicious. All right. In my family there is, some ambiguity about that. But for us Danes in the forties, it was one of the first exotic foods we got. Curry and rice. Just how foreign could food get? Well ... we are fortunately a lot wiser now, but pork meatballs in curry sauce keeps hanging on and is still a favorite. Even among some individuals in the younger generations.
Meatballs in Tomato Sauce and Rice

INGREDIENTS
1 pound (450 grams) ground beef
Pepper
1 teaspoon dried vegetables
1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
Salt
1 tablespoon breadcrumbs
1 tablespoon flour
1 teaspoon dried oregano
3-4 garlic cloves
2 eggs
Vegetable oil for frying
1 carrot
4 cups (1000 ml) tomato sauce
1 handful basil leaves
3.5 ounces (100 grams) feta cheese
PREPARATION
Put the ground beef in a bowl.
Add the dried vegetables, pepper, coriander powder, oregano, and salt.
Add the breadcrumbs and flour.
Crush the garlic and add it to the bowl.
Add the eggs.
Add 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil.
Shred the carrot and add it to the bowl.
Combine the ingredients using your hands. Shape meatballs and place them on a plate.
Preheat the oven to 360 degrees F/180 degrees C.
Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet and fry the meatballs until golden brown.
Line a large plate with paper towels and place the meatballs on it, to absorb the excess fat.
Pour the tomato sauce in a baking dish.
Add the basil leaves.
Soak the fried meatballs in the sauce.
Crumble the feta cheese over the meatballs.
Transfer to the oven and bake for 30 minutes.
Serve the meatballs with the cooked rice.

Meatballs in Brown Onion Gravy
Chef Frank shares his grandmother’s recipe for meatballs in brown onion gravy.
INGREDIENTS
Meatballs
1lb ground beef
2 tbsp minced onion
2 tbsp minced bell pepper
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
2 tbsp kitchen bouquet
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1/3 cup milk
1 egg
1 1/2 cups sliced onion
2 tbsp flour
4 tbsp veg oil
3 cups water
Recipe
1. Combine all ingredients to make meatballs. Form golf ball size balls. Sauté...DON’T BURN
2. Remove meatballs from pan.
3. Sauté onions.
4. Add 2 tbsp flour and 2 tbsp veg oil.
5. Cook out the flour
6. Gradually add 3 Cups water.
7. Add 2 tbsp kitchen bouquet salt and pepper.
8. Reduce to desired thickness.
9. Return meatballs to pan
