How To make Quick Baked Or Fried Pies(Turnovers)
2 c AM Multigrain Biscuit MIx
1/4 c Unrefined vegetable oil
3/4 c Apple juice
Jams, fruit butters, Honey and nuts, cinnamon, Nutmeg, etc.
Stir oil into dry mix with fork until mixture is uniform in color and texture. Stir in juice. Let dough set 2 minutes. Knead dough 12 to 15 times. Roll dough out to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut with biscuit cutter. Roll biscuits out into larger, thin circles of dough. Spoon 1-1/2 to 2-1/2 teaspoons of jam into the center of each circle, fold circle in half. Press edges together. Place pies on lightly oiled cookie sheet. Brush tops lightly with oil. Bake at 375 F. for 12-12 minutes or until done. Ingredients:
4 granny smith apples
1/2 cup white sugar (or 1/2 cup brown sugar, omit the molasses if using brown sugar)
1/4 cup molasses
2 tablespoons cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
2 tablespoons coconut oil (unflavored)
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour (this will go in after 15 minute cooling period.)
1 package small empanada shells (Goya discos)
2 cups canola or vegetable oil
Simple Syrup
1/4 cup boiling water
1/4 cup white sugar (no substitutes)
Dusting:
1/4 cup sugar
2 tablespoons cinnamon

Fried Apple Pies – Apple Turnovers – Hand Pies. No matter what you call them these fried pies are special treats. They are one of those foods will bring back memories and make new memories. This is a basic recipe made with everyday ingredients. There is no need to make as special shopping trip and you don’t have to have any special kitchen tools.

This apple hand pie recipe is so simple that we use only five basic ingredients to make the puff pastry dough.Flour,Butter,Water,Sugar and Salt.
This apple hand pies recipe or Apple turnovers recipe is one of the easiest and best recipe for making apple turnovers from scratch!
We can make the turnovers in four simple steps.
1. Prepare the pastry dough from scratch
2. Prepare the apple filling for the pastry
3. Assembling the pies or turnovers
4.Bake the pies.
Bake at 400 F for 10 minus and then reduce the baking temperature to 375 F and bake for another 18-20 minutes.The baking temperature may vary according to the size of the pies and how thin we rolled the pastry dough.
Smaller pies or turnovers will take slightly less baking time and about 15-18 minutes at 375 F

5 OZ. BAG DRIED APPLES (CHOPPED)
WATER
1/4 CUP SALTED BUTTER OR MARGARINE
1 CUP SUGAR
Place applesin a non-stick saucepan with enough water to cover them.Add butter and sugar. Bring to a boil. Cook on medium heat. Continue to cook until apples have lost water and formed a heavy syrup. Watch close, so they do not burn.
Make A BiscuitDough:
1 1/2 CUPS SELF-RISING FLOUR, 4 TBSP. SHORTENING
1/2 CUP MILK
Blend flour with shortening until shortening is pea sized. Add milk. Place dough on floured surface and flip 6-7 times. Roll out very thin. Incorporate enough flour into dough that you can pick up the sheet without it tearing. Use bottom of your rotary sifterto cut out round circles of dough. Place a
large tablespoon of cooked apples in center of dough. Wet edges of round with a little water then fold dough over and press edges closed with a fork. These will be half-moon shaped pies. Preheat a 10” iron skillet on medium heat. Add CORN OIL 1” high. Just before dropping pies, add 4 TBSP.
BUTTER to skillet. Add pies carefully with large, slotted spoon.Flip when pies are golden brown. Brown other side and remove. Place on a cooling rack, then roll in (or sprinkle) with cinnamon sugar while still warm.
Tip: Grease should be on medium heat, so dough has time to cook, do not have grease too hot. Use a test piece of dough if needed.
Cinnamon Sugar: (mix well put in shallow pie plate)
1/2 CUP SUGAR & 3/4 TSP. CINNAMON.
