Woo Can Cook (live) | Sichuan Peanut Noodles (Dan Dan Mian), AMA!
hello hi there! Tonight we're making one of my favorite Sichuan noodle dishes of all time, which is a peanut-sauce noodle called Dan Dan Mian. This is definitely one of those noodle dishes that is prepared in vastly different ways depending on who's making it. My recipe is based off of the version that I've been eating since I was a kid, which uses peanut butter (in place of the more traditional sesame paste or tahini).
Woo Can Cook is a series where we reproduce fun foods and recipes from my childhood. Some of them are authentically Chinese and/or pan-Asian, but a lot of them are odd Americanized versions that I inherited from my parents and grandparents while growing up in the Bay Area/California.
We're here live every Monday/Tuesday/Thursday at 6:30PM PST, Wednesdays at 6PM PST, with new recipes up on YouTube every Friday. See ya soon!

5 Minutes Spicy Peanut Noodle
Hello Hi! My name is Alissa and I'm the creator behind Gaming Foodie on Instagram, Tiktok and now Youtube.
I got just the recipe for you! Spicy Peanut Noodles! This recipe is so easy to make, all you need to do is boil your noodles. I’m assuming most people have chili oil or chili paste in the fridge but if you don’t, I included a quick 5 ingredient chili oil.
If you want to add protein, you can. Use any form of ground meat. You can also use shrimp, pork beef or chicken— I’d recommend thinly slicing. Cook them separately, season accordingly and lay it on top of your bowl.
INGREDIENTS
4 frozen bricks of udon noodles (rice or soba noodles ok)
PEANUT SAUCE:
1/2 cup peanut butter
2 TBSP Gochujang
2 TBSP Rice vinegar
1 TBSP Honey
1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce
3/4 cup Water
1 tsp minced ginger
CHILI OIL:
1/3 cup oil
2 shallots, thinly sliced
6 cloves garlic, minced
1 TBSP chili flakes
2 tsp gochugaru (Korean chili flakes)
