Slow Cooker Sloppy Joes {Homemade!}
SLOW COOKER SLOPPY JOES
--------------Click on SHOW MORE to see the FULL RECIPE--------------
We love Manwich sloppy Joes but we also love to spend a little more time and make these homemade Sloppy Joes.
RECIPE:
INGREDIENTS:
1 lb. ground beef - I use 7% fat though any will work
1 yellow onion diced
1 green or red bell pepper diced
1 cup ketchup
8 oz. can tomato sauce (NOT PASTE)
2 Tbsp. mustard
1 tsp. apple cider vinegar
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
3/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 tsp. chili powder
1 Tbsp. brown sugar
SLOW COOKER SIZE:
3-quart or larger
INSTRUCTIONS:
Set a large skillet on the stovetop and set to medium-high heat. When the pan is hot, add the ground beef, onion and bell pepper. Brown and crumble the beef. Drain your meat if your ground beef is overly fatty.
Add the beef, onion and bell pepper to the slow cooker. Add remaining ingredients.
Stir. Place the lid on the slow cooker.
Cook on HIGH for 2 hours or LOW for 3. Keep an eye on the meat mixture and stir if it looks as it's starting to burn around the edges.
Toast buns and pile the Sloppy Joe meat on top. Top with cheese and pickles if desired.

Cooking doesn’t have to be hard, it just has to be delicious.

Delicious Meatless Sloppy Joes
In this recipe I will show you how to make the plant-based version of sloppy joes. Of course there can be many variations in the veggie realm as well, but this one is the best one in my opinion and I have returned to it many times. If you want more of the faux meat texture you can try that too with the many options at your local grocery store. The black lentils in this recipe are great though.
This isn't just a plain ol' sloppy joe recipe, it has a nice aromatic spice included. I am sure you'll agree that this is next level on the delicious scale.
You shall require the following:
1/2 Cup - Black Lentils
2 Cups - Walnuts (soaked)
1/4 Cup - Sundried Tomatoes (If dry packed you must soak them)
1 Cup - Chopped Tomato
1/2 Cup - Chopped Red Bell Pepper
1/4 Cup - Chopped Green Bell Pepper
3 Tbsp - Nutritional Yeast
4-6 Cloves of Garlic
1/4 Cup - Onion
2 Tbsp (or more) Lemon Juice (freshly squeezed)
1 Tbsp Chopped fresh Rosemary
3 Red Chilies (if you want it more spicy)
1 Tbsp Ground Cumin
1 Tsp Mexican Chili Powder
1 Tsp Salt
Cayenne Pepper to taste
ground black pepper to taste
You can always adjust the spice level to your liking.
You need a food processor for this recipe, but if you don't have one there's always a way to make it work. If you need any tips, feel free to reach out.

I always appreciate your likes, comments, and new subscriptions. I look forward to hearing if you prepared this recipe or plan on it. Also, if you have any recipes you want me to veganize, I would be happy to do so and I'm interested to see what my watchers would like to see.
I share fun facts in my videos, interesting tidbits of info and sometimes you will notice funny moments or bloopers. Those of you who watched last week's video to the very end would have noticed. Those of you who didn't, tsk tsk! ;-P
Stay tuned every Monday for another delicious recipe! Happy cooking!
