It's dinner time!
In this video, we've got Capt. Mark Hollywood Johnson from FloridaKeysFunFishing.com showing us how to fillet a speckled trout.
We had just gotten back from a full day of catching fish and were getting ready to go grab some dinner when we decided to bust out the camera and film this video of Hollywood cleaning the trout.
Although it was rainy and we had some paddleboard spectators, Capt. Hollywood did a great job of showing how easy it is.
You'll learn:
- The quick & easy way to fillet seatrout while keeping as much meat as possible
- How to remove the skin (without removing the meat)
- How to get the bones out so you don't get a surprise during dinner
If you like eating fish, you're going to love this video.

How to Grill Whole Trout
Putting fish on the grill strikes fear to the heart of any pitmaster. With a little bit of preparation you can grill fish that won't stick to the grill. This is one of my favorite combinations for whole trout and I'm sure you will like it too. We picked the bones clean, but had a little left over that we added to a salad the next day. Absolutely amazing.

Grilling may be one of our favorite ways to cook a whole fish—the intense direct heat does wonders for the skin, crisping it up while the coals below impart a delicious flavor to the fish itself. Granted, it's not quite as easy as just tossing a whole fish in the oven, but a few key steps will guarantee it comes out perfect every time. Here's how to get it done.
