How To make Basic Crockpot Beans
Ingredients
2
each
onions, chopped
2-3
each
garlic cloves
1
pound
dried beans, soaked 4 hours or overnight
1-2
each
bay leaves
1
water to cover
Directions:
Put in crockpot and cook about 4-6 hours on high or overnight on low. Beans should be soft (small white beans take longest, pinto beans shorter) Add spices, veggies, etc. (see below) cook about another hour.
Spices:, veggies, etc:
A:
1 ts dried cumin
1 ts paprika
1/4 ts cayenne pepper
1-2 tb soy sauce
chili peppers, chopped
green pepper, chopped
can tomatoes, chopped
frozen corn (good with black beans)
1/2 tsp liquid smoke tastes good added
B:
1 tsp cumin
1 can green chilis, chopped
green pepper, chopped
1 tb soy sauce (good with white beans).
C:
1-2 tb soy sauce
1/4 c molasses
1/4 ts cayenne
1/2 ts dried mustard, (good with pinto or black eyed peas)

RECIPE:
INGREDIENTS:
1 lb. dried pinto beans (no need to presoak)
8 slices bacon sliced and cooked
1 sweet yellow onion diced
2 garlic cloves minced
2 Roma tomatoes diced
1 jalapeno minced
1 tsp. cumin
1 tsp. dried leaf oregano
7 cups chicken broth
Wait to add:
1/8 cup finely minced cilantro
1 tsp. salt
SLOW COOKER SIZE:
INSTRUCTIONS:
Rinse the beans and sort through them, making sure there is no rocks or dirt clumps. Add the beans to the slow cooker along with the bacon, onion, garlic, tomatoes, jalapeno, cumin, and oregano. (DON'T ADD THE CILANTRO OR SALT YET).
Pour over the chicken broth and stir.
Cook on HIGH for 5-7 hours.
Stir, serve and enjoy!

How to Cook Dried Beans in a Slow Cooker
1. Wash hands with soap and hot water.
2. Place dried beans in a bowl.
3. Add water to cover beans by 3 to 4 inches.
4. Let beans soak overnight or 6 hours covered on the counter.
5. Use colander to drain and rinse beans before cooking.
6. Place soaked beans in crock pot.
7. Add any seasonings: salt and pepper, garlic, jalapenos, onions (to taste).
8. Cover with water by about 2 inches.
9. Cook on low for 8 hours or high for 6 hours.

How to make Great Northern Beans
Ingredients:
1 lb bag of great northern beans
3 ham hocks
2 bay leaves
1 onion chopped
2 stalks of celery chopped
Half bell pepper chopped
2-4 garlic cloves
4 cups chicken broth or water
Directions
Pick through beans and remove any rocks or discolored beans and rinse. Add to crockpot pot along with all vegetables and chicken broth or water don't add any salt at this point but you can add any seasoning that's salt free. Set crockpot on high for 4-5 hours or Low 9-10 once done now you can add salt and season to taste and if you need to thicken up the beans mix 2 tbs cornstarch with 2 tbs water mix and add to beans place lid back on for 5 minutes and it's ready to serve. How to make pinto beans in a crockpot, DIY PINTO BEANS #meatlessmeal
Ingredients:
2lb bag of pinto beans
half large pepper chopped
small red onion chopped
3 bullion cubes
1 tbsp Brown sugar
1tpn garlic pow
2 tbp crushed garlic
1tpn thyme
1tpn onion pow
1 can of beef broth
1tpn black pepper
add enough water to cover 1 inch over the beans
Once beans have gotten tender after about 5 hours on high add 2tbp of starch to warm water whisk and pour in crockpot to thicken then cook another 20 min and they are ready to eat
