BlueBerry Pie: Using Frozen Blueberries
Join me as I walk you through step-by-step on how to make the perfect blueberry pie from scratch. This recipe uses frozen blueberries. You may also use fresh blueberries - simply replace the blueberry juice in the recipe with water. This recipe makes a blueberry pie that is not runny and not gummy!

A few other products I find handy for baking this blueberry pie:
A pie drip catcher is the ultimate for keeping your oven clean (use a sheet pan if you don't have a drip catcher). I prefer this one as the hole in the middle allows heat to more evenly reach the bottom of the pie:
A pie crust shield to help prevent burning the crust. This one is my fav:
Apple & Blueberry Crumble/Crisp - A Quick & Simple Holiday / Winter Recipe
Hi there! Here's my easy recipe for apple and blueberry crumble. It only takes around 15 minutes to put together. You can mix everything in the baking dish. You can use any apples or berries you like. The amount of each is up to you. Of course, you can leave out the berries or the apples, or change the fruit entirely.
If you would like this Gluten Free...
You can leave out the flour in the fruits and substitute it with corn starch or rice flour. Don't use corn flour or masa harina as it will add a noticeable flavor. You can also leave the flour out of the topping and just use gluten-free oats. If you want to stay clear of oats and flour, you can use gluten-free corn flakes (not manufactured in a wheat/grain processing facility) in your crumble topping. Just follow the recipe, changing the flour and oats to crushed corn flakes and 2/3 of the butter.
I do hope you enjoy this recipe and try it out. Thank you so much for watching!
- Jessica
Recipe - (tbsp = tablespoon, tsp = teaspoon)
Filling:
6 cups of apples (I used honeycrisp)
2 cups of blueberries
2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp allspice
6 tbsp sugar
3 tbsp all-purpose flour
1 tsp lemon juice
Crumble:
1/2 cup of butter/margarine
3/4 cup of oats
1/2 cup of all-purpose flour
1/3 cup of dark brown sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp allspice
Besides cinnamon and allspice, you can add in star anise or clove. Any spices you like with apples or fruits would be great.
Bake at 375F or 190C for 45 minutes while covered with foil. Uncover and cook until brown. Be sure to watch your crumble after the 30 minute mark, the size of your apple pieces will change the baking time. If you cut them small, it will bake faster; if you cut them larger, it will bake slower. All ovens are different so you may need to change the heat to better bake your crumble.
