This is a cake I would call a Christmas pie. You just have to make a dough. Ingredients in this pie without prior preparation. You just need to put raw meat or chicken in a dough mold. You need to cook it the day before Christmas, so that the broth will freeze and turn into jelly. And on Christmas evening, not cooking anymore.
You can make this pie with pork, turkey or with a mixture of chicken and pork. You can also add fried mushrooms or sausages.
This easy chicken pie recipe is dead simple and can be knocked up in no time at all.
This pie is also called British Pie or English Pie or Meat Pie.
It’s not chicken pot pie but recipe is very easy too. We also call him Christmas cake. This recipe is great for a Christmas or New Year's Eve dinner.
Large meat pies are somewhat traditional in the UK around Christmas time, as are raised game pies. So this chicken and ham pie is modelled on that. Is a little bit different, looks fantastic and tastes great. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
Filling:
5 small chicken thighs
80 g boiled ham
80 g bacon
3 sheets of gelatin
Dough:
200 g butter
400 g flour
120 ml of water
⅓ tsp salt
1 egg
Spices:
1/2 tsp of coriander
1/4 tsp of ground allspice
1/4 tsp of ground dried garlic
1 tsp of soy sauce
1 tsp of Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp of olive oil
black pepper
2 bay leaves
1 onion
allspice peas

Chicken Pot Pie Recipe
Ingredients:
1/3 cup unsalted butter
1/3 cup AP flour
¼ cup onion, diced small
¼ cup celery, diced small
2 cups chicken stock
2 ½ cups cooked chicken
2 cups frozen vegetables (I like peas, carrots, beans, corn…) thawed
½ cup milk or cream
1 bay leaf
2 prepared pie dough rounds, or phyllo dough shaped into flowers and placed on top
Method:
1. Melt butter in a medium size pot. When the butter is ready add the onion and celery. Cook for 2 minutes at medium heat.
2. Add the cooked chicken to the mixture. When the chicken is hot, sprinkle the flour over the mixture. Stir continuously with a rubber spatula being careful not to burn the flour. Add the thawed mixed vegetables, chicken stock, bay leaf and milk while stirring.
3. Bring to a simmer. Simmer for 5 minutes to thicken.
4. Allow to cool to room temperature.
5. Add the mixture to a pan prepared with a pie crust. Place the second pie crust over the filling. Flute the edges of the pie crust together. Cut three ½ inch slits in the top pie crust or simply place phyllo dough shaped into flowers on top. (Bake phyllo until golden)
6. Bake the pot pie at 425 degrees F for 30-40 minutes until golden brown if using pie dough

What you'll need...
- 1 Nine inch (deep dish) pie crust *thawed if frozen
- 1 refrigerated pie crust (for top)
- 1 1/2 cup frozen vegetables
- 1/2 stick butter
- 1 cup diced potatoes
- 2-3 chicken breasts cut into bite sized pcs
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 tsp parsley
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup flour (sifted)
*Pre-Cook the pie crust on the Bake option 350° for 15 minutes or until cooked. (you can brush on eggwash first *optional but recommended) Set aside.
Sear/Saute' (MED/HI) the butter & vegetables for 2-3 minutes or until tender.
Next you'll add the Chicken, broth and potatoes and Pressure Cook on HI for 5 minutes in the Seal position. Once complete, do a Quick Release. Add salt, pepper, italian seasoning, parsley, heavy cream and sift in the flour. Mix very well and Turn Foodi on Sear/Saute' (MED/HI) continue cooking and stirring a minute or two until sauce thickens and bubbles. Turn off foodi when desired thickness is reached. Remove pot, pour or ladle into your baked Pie dish, allow to cool a bit while you rinse and dry out your pot (before adding the pot pie back in) and put in the reversible rack (lower position). Place your pie crust on top of pot pie (you can leave whole or slice strips for a lattice crust) If using whole be sure to make four slits in the middle for ventilation) Brush on egg wash and put pie into foodi (using a silicon sling or homemade foil strips) Use the Broil option and cook on 350° for 10 minutes or desired doneness.

CHICKEN POT PIE
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup salted butter
- 2 tbsp oil
- 2 tbsp flour
- 1.5 cup chicken stock
- 1.5 cup milk
- 1 cup mixed
vegetables (potatoes, peas, carrots)
- 1 and 1/2 chicken cube
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1 tsp black pepper powder
- 1 tsp white pepper powder
- 3/4th cup corn
- 3/4th cup capsicum
- 1 cup cheddar cheese
- 3 packs of dawn puff pastry sheets (10 sheets in each pack)
- 1 egg for egg wash
Servings: Makes 2 chicken pot pies of 8 inches.
