Orange Creamsicle Pie Recipe
This is a fast and simple recipe.
Orange Crumble Topping:
3 ounces box orange-flavored Jell-o
1 cup all-purpose flour (divided)
1/2 cup unsalted butter (cold and divided)
1/2 cup white granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
Orange Pie Filling:
1 cup heavy whipping cream very cold
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 can (14oz) sweetened condensed milk
8 ounces cream cheese (room temperature)
2 cups orange jam (or preserves)
5 drops orange gel food coloring
1 prepared graham cracker pie crust (9 or 10)
reheat: First, preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
Mix: Then, use a fork to stir the gelatin with ¼-cup of the butter and ½-cup of the flour in a medium bowl until it is fine and crumbly.
Also mix: In another medium bowl, stir up the granulated sugar, vanilla, remaining butter, and remaining flour. Use a fork to make it crumbly.
Combine: Next, using a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, sprinkle on the orange and vanilla crumbles, mixing them slightly by hand.
Bake: Cook them for seven to eight minutes and do NOT stir.
Remove: Finally, take it out of the oven and let it cool completely before putting it into an airtight container in the refrigerator.
Start the filling: While the crumbles are in the fridge, start the pie filling by mixing the powdered sugar and whipping cream with an electric mixer until very stiff peaks form. Then set in the fridge to chill for 30 minutes.
Make it creamy: In another large bowl, mix the cream cheese with a hand mixer until it is creamy.
Add: After, add the milk and mix it for another minute until it is thoroughly combined.
Mix in the orange: Pour the orange preserves into the mix and beat it until it is completely combined.
Combine: After the whipped cream has chilled for 30 minutes, combine it with the orange filling until it is mixed completely. Add orange food coloring as needed.
Fill: Spoon the filling into the pie crust and freeze it for six to eight hours.
Add crumbles: Finally, before serving top with the prepared orange crumble topping.
Orange Creamsicle Kool Aid Pie ???????????? No Bake Icebox Pie ???????????? Easy Summer Dessert ????️
My orange creamsicle Kool Aid pie recipe is easy and delicious! With just a few ingredients you can make this no bake icebox pie that tastes just like an orange creamsicle. If you're looking for the perfect dessert for your Memorial Day barbecue, or any summer event, definitely give this one a try.
The filling for this pie is super simple: Cool Whip, sweetened condensed milk, orange Kool Aid, orange juice, and orange zest. Although I used Minneola tangerine juice and zest, any type of orange would work. I added some food coloring to give this a bright orange color, but that isn't necessary.
To make the filling, mix all of the ingredients together--except for the Cool Whip. When adding the Cool Whip, remember to fold it in instead of stirring: that will help keep the whipped topping from deflating.
Once the pie filling is done, simply pour it into an 8-inch prepared graham cracker pie crust, smooth it out, and chill for 8 hours. Although you could definitely use a storebought graham cracker crust, I highly suggest making your own. If you do use a storebought crust, dusting the bottom with a bit of cinnamon would help make it taste more homemade.
This orange creamsicle Kool Aid pie was fantastic. Honestly, I was expecting this to be more of an orange Kool-Aid pie, but the creaminess from the Cool Whip came though strong enough to turn this into a creamsicle pie--which wasn't a bad thing.
I know that use Kool Aid to make a no bake icebox pie sounds odd, but it's actually genius. On its own, Kool Aid doesn't have any sugar, so adding it to sweetened condensed milk and Cool Whip allows you to add flavor without making the pie filling too sweet.
This pie was cool and refreshing, so it would be the perfect Memorial Day barbecue dessert...or for any summer barbecue, picnic, or other event. If you make my recipe, I know you'll love it!
