Dr. Pepper Bundt Cake!
Ingredients:
Bundt Cake:
1 box chocolate cake mix
3 eggs
1 cup Dr. Pepper or any soda you like
1/2 cup melted butter (1 stick)
bundt cake pan
Frosting:
1/3 cup Dr. Pepper or any soda you like
1/2 cup butter (1 stick)
6 tbsp cocoa powder
4 cups powdered sugar
(This makes a lot of frosting!!! You can cut it in half and still have plenty!)
Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and generously spray a bundt pan with cooking spray.
2. Melt the butter in the microwave in a microwavable safe bowl.
3. Add the cake mix, 1 cup of Dr. Pepper (or any soda you like), and mix with an electric mixer.
4. Add the eggs and mix to combine.
5. Pour into the prepared bundt pan, give a couple shakes to get out the air bubbles.
6. Bake 40-50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. (Mine was done in 40!)
7. Let the cake cool and prepare the frosting.
8. In a saucepan on medium heat, bring the butter, cocoa powder, and 1/3 cup Dr. Pepper (or any soda you like) to a boil stirring constantly.
9. Pour over the powdered sugar and mix with an electric mixer to combine. (If too thick you can add more soda! I added 1/4 cup more!)
10. Invert the bundt cake and let cool on a cooling rack completely.
11. Once cool, give the frosting a good stir and drizzle over top of the cake! (If you make the frosting per my directions there will be a ton! Mine puddled in the middle and down the sides! It was too much for me!)
12. Let the cake set up and enjoy! The frosting will harden!
This cake is so moist and good, but I really don't taste the soda in it at all. I would definitely make it again though! Everyone loved it! I may try additional flavors in the future! The possibilities are endless! Let me know if you try a different type of soda! Thanks again for watching!
