But this is one super simple recipe you can make on a weeknight when you really don’t feel like cooking. ????
The hardest part (in my opinion) would be mixing the ingredients for the sauce! And it really isn't that hard at all.
Once you mix everything you just simmer with the fish for a good 15 minutes and you have a nice Japanese style main ready to go!
???? Question of the day- have you tried cooking fish with soy sauce yet?
NOTES
if you can't find red perch (akauo), you can use black cod or another mild tasting and fatty fish.
????:::RECIPE:::
Ingredients
2 pieces of akauo (red perch), or any white flaky fish
1/2 cup water
3 Tbsp sake
3 Tbsp shoyu, soy sauce
3 Tbsp mirin
1 Tbsp sugar
1-3 tsp grated ginger, can add to the sauce or use to garnish
Directions
1. Measure out all ingredients and add to a small sauce pan.
2. Add water, sake, shoyu, mirin and sugar. Heat on low and stir until sugar dissolves. (Optional, add in grated ginger)
3. Once sugar has dissolved, add in fish filets skin side up and simmer covered for about 15 minutes.
4. After simmering remove from the pan and onto a plate. Spoon sauce over fish and garnish with freshly grated ginger!
