Gluten Free Dairy Free Hamburger Bun Recipe
Nothing can be more tiresome than constantly having to muster the fortitude of feeling comfortable eating burgers without a bun. As if celiac disease and gluten intolerance were not punishment enough, how annoying is it to smile at a party and say no bun thanks, just the burger ... ugh! Well fear not fellow culinarians, this recipe is just for you. Go ahead, cook up a delicious beef burger on the BBQ, sizzle up a delicious salmon burger in the pan, slice up some fresh tomato, pickles & onions, or whatever your heart desires, then DIG INTO a big messy bite of your favourite summertime backyard delight, with dignity and pride!
INGREDIENTS
Yeast Mixture Ingredients
- 1/3 cup Warm Water
- 1/2 tbsp Traditional Active Dry Yeast
- 1 tsp Sugar
Dry Ingredients
- 2/3 cup Tapioca Flour
- 1/3 cup Potato Starch
- 1/3 cup Corn Starch
- 1/3 cup White Rice Flour
- 1/3 cup Sweet White Rice Flour
- 1 tbsp Baking Powder
- 1/2 tsp Guar Gum
- 1/2 tsp Salt
Wet Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Warm Water
- 1 Organic Egg
- 3 tbsp Dairy Free Margarine, melted
- 1 tbsp Organic Honey
INSTRUCTIONS
STEP 1: Preheat oven to 375°F
STEP 2: Lightly grease sic 4 oven-safe ramekins with dairy free margarine
STEP 3: Place the greased ramekins on a large baking sheet
STEP 4: Combine the 1/3 cup of warm water, yeast and sugar in a small bowl
STEP 5: Whisk together well until the yeast and sugar are dissolved, then set aside to proof
STEP 6: In a separate medium-sized mixing bowl, combine all of the dry ingredients and whisk together well
STEP 7: In a small microwave-safe bowl, melt the margarine for around 30 seconds
STEP 8: In a separate small bowl, whisk together the melted margarine and all remaining wet ingredients
STEP 9: Add the yeast mixture and the wet mixture to the flour mixture and combine as best you can with a cake spatula
STEP 10: Switch to a large whisk and whisk the dough vigorously until smooth
STEP 11: Knock the whisk against the side of your mixing bowl to dislodge all the bread dough into the bowl
STEP 12: Transfer the smooth dough evenly to each of the 6 greased ramekins using a cake spatula or a spoon
STEP 13: Set aside in a warm place to rise for 15 minutes
STEP 14: After 15 minutes, bake in the center rake for 25 minutes
STEP 15: Remove from the oven and let the ramekins cool on your baking sheet for around 5 minutes
STEP 16: Gently remove the buns from their ramekins and transfer to a cooling rack for around 15 minutes before slicing
STEP 17: Slice in half, toast if desired, garnish with fresh ingredients and eat a delicious burger like a normal human being again!

How to Make Homemade Hamburger Buns | The Stay At Home Chef
Homemade Hamburger Buns are easy to make and will take your burgers over the top! Feel like you are eating at a gourmet burger bar with homemade buns, and they are freeze-able too!

✅Ingredients
• 2½ teaspoons instant dry yeast
• 2 tablespoons sugar
• 1½ teaspoons salt
• 1 cup warm milk
• 1/2 cup warm water
• 1/4 cup salted butter, melted
• 4½ cups all-purpose flour
• 1 large egg
• 1 tablespoon water
• 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
✅Instructions
1️⃣ 00:00:17 - In a large mixing bowl, or in the bowl of a stand mixer, combine the yeast, sugar, salt, milk, and water.
2️⃣ 00:00:56 - Add in the melted butter and 3½ cups of the flour. Begin mixing on a low speed until all of the flour is stirred in. Slowly add in the remaining flour 1/2 cup at a time until the dough is tacky, but doesn't stick to your hands. The dough should be nice and smooth.
3️⃣ 00:01:34 - Transfer to a lightly greased large mixing bowl and let rise until double in size, about 1 hour.
4️⃣ 00:01:50 - Divide the dough into 12 equal portions and roll into balls. Press each ball between your hands to flatten. The dough will spring back a bit giving you about a 1/2-inch disc. Place the disc onto a lightly greased baking sheet.
5️⃣ 00:02:50 - Whisk together the egg and 1 tablespoon water to form an egg wash. Brush the tops of the discs. This will give them a nice shiny brown finish.
6️⃣ 00:03:18 - Sprinkle sesame seeds on top, if desired, to make sesame seed buns.
7️⃣ 00:03:24 - Bake in a 400 degree oven for about 12 minutes, until lightly browned.
