Plant based burgers are fairly overpopulated these days, and it seems that everyone is still looking to have a piece of the market. Introducing the new player in the market, BUDS, an Australian-based company that has released a burger that has a massive 19.5grams of protein per burger!
These new Buds Burgers are now available throughout Australia for $10 for 2 burger patties and can be found in select IGA stores.

How to Make The Best Crispy Chicken Burger at Home

Serves - 2 To 4
Ingredients -
Chicken Marinade -
2 or 4 - Large Boneless & Skinless Chicken Thighs
1 Cup (250ml) - Buttermilk
1 Tbsp (20ml) - Sriracha Sauce (Optional)
1 tsp (2.5g) - Smoked Paprika
1 tsp (2.5g) - Onion Powder
1 tsp (2.5g) - Garlic Powder
Seasoned Flour Mix -
1 1/2 Cups (225g) - Plain (All Purpose) Flour
3 Tbsp (35g) - Corn Flour or Starch
1 tsp (2.5g) - Smoked Paprika
1 tsp (2.5g) - Onion Powder
1 tsp (2.5g) - Garlic Powder
1 tsp (2.5g) - Celery Salt
Plain Mayonnaise -
200ml (200g) - Olive Oil (NOT Extra Virgin Olive Oil)
1 - Large Whole Egg
1 1/2 tsp (15ml) - White Vinegar or Lemon Juice
1 tsp (10g) - Dijon Mustard
Tangy Southern Ingredients -
1 tsp (2.5g) - Smoked Paprika
1 tsp (2.5g) - Garlic Powder
1 Tbsp (20g) - Tomato Ketchup
1 Tbsp (20g) - Horseradish
1 Tbsp (20ml) - Worcestershire Sauce
Sea Salt Flakes To Taste
Additional Ingredients -
Burger Buns (I Used Brioche)
Tomato, Thinly Sliced
Lettuce (I Used Baby Cos), Washed
Pickles -
Seasoning To Taste
Notes -
Can I Use Chicken Breast?
You can definitely use chicken breast instead of thighs. The chicken breast will need to be butterflied and sliced into two even-sized fillets. As for cooking times, fry the breast for 3 minutes on each side at the same temperature of 170.c-340.f.
Mayonnaise By Hand -
To make the mayonnaise by hand, secure a bowl with a damp tea towel wrapped around the bottom. Add in all of the ingredients except the oil and whisk together until smooth. Whilst continuously and vigorously whisking, very slowly pour in the oil to create the emulsion. If it starts to pool on top, stop immediately and whisk it in before adding more. This can also be made in a blender or food processor.
How Long Will The Mayo Last?
The mayonnaise will last up to 2 days in the fridge but I can guarantee it will be gone in one sitting, its so good!

ALDI has some brand new vegan friendly items including some buffalo cauliflower wings, jackfruit burgers and thai style veggie burgers. Let’s see how they taste!
ALDI Australia are often full of surprises for vegans in Australia, and they have jumped on board with another handful of new items for people to try: Buffalo style cauliflower wings ($3.99), BBQ flavoured jackfruit burgers ($3.49) and also the Thai styled veggie burgers ($3.49).
It is fantastic to have some more options available, but the biggest question is if they are worth your money!

Let your kiddies dig into this amazing dish. It's full of life and flavour and its easy for the tiny ones to munch on too.
Just because it has no meat, it doesn't mean it has no punch. Try it out!! This burger is a really soft, easy to eat and packed full of the good things.
Its a full on tall, broad proppa burger. Serve it up with a pile of chips, chuck in a side salad and you are well away.
