1 c Sugar
1 c Molasses
1 c Lard
2 ea Egg yolks
1 tb Vinegar
1/2 ts Ginger
1/2 ts Cinnamon
1/4 ts Cloves
1 ts Baking soda
2 tb Water; hot
2 ea Egg whites
Firm jelly; for centers Use 1 level t. soda dissolved in 2 T. hot water. Flour to make a very stiff dough. Roll, cut and dip in egg white, then in granulated sugar. Put firm jelly in center or each cookie. Watch closely as they will burn easily. Note: Combine all ingredients except egg whites. Use additional granulated sugar for dipping. Ingredients:
1 cup (230g) Butter, softened
2/3 cup (85g) powdered sugar
1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon Salt
1 Egg yolk
2¼ cups (280g) Flour
Jam of your choice
Directions:
1. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper and set aside. Preheat oven to 170°C (340°F).
2. In a large bowl cream butter and powder sugar until smooth and creamy. Add egg yolk, vanilla extract and mix until combined. Add flour, salt and stir until incorporated and dough is formed.
3. Using a one-tablespoon cookie scoop or measuring tablespoon take 1 tablespoon of dough and roll into balls.
4. Then place the balls on prepared baking sheets. Slightly flatten the balls and then make an indentation with your thumb or with a back of a spoon into each ball. At this stage, if dough is too soft, refrigerate for 30 minutes. Then, fill each with cookie the jam.
5. Bake for 12-15 minutes, the cookies should still be pale, but slightly golden at the bottom.
6. Dust with powdered sugar (optional) and allow to cool on a wire rack.

Strawberry Jelly Layered Pudding : Twisty Taster
Jelly is not just a dessert for little kids. It can make a decadent dessert for the grown-ups too. My favourite flavour is strawberry, you can enjoy this recipe with your choice of flavours too.
Paired with the classic biscuit base and the condensed milk, this recipe will leave you wanting another serving.
Ingredients used:
For the biscuit base
• Digestive biscuits – 400 g
• Melted Butter – ½ cup
For the milk layer
• Condensed milk – 1 can
• Full fat milk – 2 cups
• Gelatine – 20 g
• Hot water – 2 tbsp
For the jelly layer
• Strawberry jelly cubes – 2 packs
• Hot water – 1 cup
