Easy Pancake Recipe~Cast Iron~Open Fire Cooking
Easy Pancake Recipe made over an open fire using our cast iron skillet! Come along as we boil maple sap for syrup and make pancakes at the same time! Since the fire was already going, I whipped up some batter and headed back to the fire pit to make us pancakes drizzled with our homemade maple syrup! We even made supper out there too...hotdogs over the fire with all the fixings, including some home canned relish from last year's garden season...delicious!
Pancake Recipe: 1 & 1/2 cups all purpose flour 2 tbsp's granulated sugar 3/4 tsp salt 1 tbsp baking powder 1 & 1/2 cups of milk (use 1& 1/4 cups if you want thick pancake batter) 1/4 cup vegetable oil, plus more for frying pancakes in the cast iron pan ( I used grape seed oil) 2 tsp's vanilla extract 1 egg
