This Granola is so addictive
It’s crazy easy to make and you can really use any nuts and seeds that you like. Today I’ve used hazelnuts, walnuts and almonds but I love also adding cashews, pecans and even peanuts.
*Tip - Make sure to press it down with a back of a spoon before the second cook and allow to fully cool down before breaking up into chunks ❤️

What this dietitian eats for breakfast
My breakfast box for overnight oats!
As someone who struggles to make breakfast every morning, overnight oats are one of the easiest ways for me to get in a satisfying and delicious meal! I’ve tried many overnight oats recipes, but this is one of my favorites.
Overnight oats is typically made in a mason jar, but I often found it difficult to mix the ingredients together, especially when I used my small mason jar. Once I prepared my overnight oats in my snack box, I never looked back! Not only is it portable, but it’s also easier to mix and saves me time in the morning by allowing me to store toppings in the same container but separately from the oats. *Snack container listed on my Amazon storefront*

And today we're gonna go diving into some muesli, I'm going to serve you some muesli, and we're gonna go back to the beginning of muesli back to Switzerland, and where they discovered the bircher museli not really discovered, but it was a doctor who came up with this recipe, and it has been transformed into so many varieties around the world. And it's still delicious today. It's delicious.
And it's also nutritious because it's high in protein and high in fiber. And those are the two key nutrients that we need in our body to sustain us and to keep us strong. And so I'm excited to share this with you. Now I'm going to share with you three specific additional recipes that you can do with this. And I'm going to share with you how to put this together for just the quickest breakfast ever besides just the regular way of serving it. And I have a really fun, biblical fact that I want to share with you.
So the recipe is basically:
- one cup oats
- one cup milk
- one cup apples (shredded apples)
That's the basic recipe - how you change it up is up to you.
Keeping the measurements the same is exactly how to make this recipe. Stir this up. Now to this we can add just any number of ingredients. We can add cinnamon, vanilla extract, almond extract, we can add all kinds of other toppings letting this sit in the refrigerator for a couple hours or even on the counter. It's going to absorb the moisture into the oats, especially since these are freshly flaked, they are not dried out like the ones you get in the store. So it's going to absorb much quicker.
So I'm just going to add a dash of cinnamon. I want that cinnamon to really work into the flavor of the oats. And like I said you could add a dash of vanilla extract and then many times in Switzerland they're going to add a little bit of apple juice.
I'm just going to use just about a teaspoon that is going to absorb very well into those oats and we're going to let that sit and then we'll add some toppings. Now the second batch, we're going to go ahead and use our rolled oats that we just flaked ourselves, we're going to add in our yogurt. So I'm using a full fat yogurt you can use any variety of yogurt that's good for you, you can use a dairy yogurt, you can use a non dairy yogurt, whatever is your best preference.
Now we're going to add some almond extract and just a little bit of apple juice to absorb into those oats and that works as our sweetener. Now to this one, I'm not actually going to add the apple so it's not going to be an official bircher museli.
I'm going to let this sit and then we're going to turn this into our banana walnut date muesli.
Here's the fact that I wanted to share with you. The Geneva Bible is the Bible that the Pilgrims brought over on the Mayflower. So when you serve this up to your family or to your guests, share with them the value of God's word how hard people had to travel to protect the ability to worship, the ability to come together in a congregation and to praise and to have worship and to study God's Word, and how hard the Pilgrims had to work to achieve that.
And so when you serve this, add that little tidbit into your teachings and just to your conversation. Now let me share with you how to make this even quicker.
There is just a lot of foods that God has created. And we always know when we follow the three principles that I teach about how to eat healthy, you will never go wrong.
