This Muesli Recipe Is Heart Healthy And DELISH
What's up MTG Tribe? In this video I share the muesli recipe I mentioned a few videos ago. I can't remember which video it was (maybe 5 Plant Based Foods I Eat EVERY Day) but I mentioned how making muesli has been a recent obsession of mine and got several people in the comments asking for the recipe, so here you go!
Muesli is a dry cereal dish that has a base of rolled oats (raw) and includes different flaked grains, nuts, seeds and fruits (both dried and fresh). I like making my muesli rather than buying it pre-made because it's easy to get variety with home made muesli. You can change it up quite easily with simple substitutions. I'll put some ideas in parentheses in the recipe below.
Here's the recipe I share in this video:
- 1/2 cup oats (or 1 cup for a heartier bowl) - 1/4 cup whole grain flakes - 1/4 cup puffed rice - 3 Tbsp hulled hemp seeds - 3 Tbsp sliced almonds (or pepitas, sunflower seeds, etc.) - 2 Tbsp raisins (or any dried fruit) - 2 Tbsp dried cranberries (or other dried fruit) - 1 or 2 cups plant milk - Sliced fresh fruit (use any fruit that's juicy)
This is a fairly high protein muesli because of the grains, nuts/seeds and plant milk. I typically get around 700 - 800 calories in a bowl with at least 30 grams of protein. If you want, you could also add a scoop of vanilla protein powder to the milk to sweeten it up and add more protein (although I personally think that would be overkill).
I hope you learn how to make your own muesli at home from watching this video and give it a shot. If you do, let me know how you like it and if you changed it up somehow!
