How To make Polish Noodles
1/4 c Sweet butter
8 oz Sour cream*
1 lb Ham, cubed
16 oz Ripened tomatoes, chopped
2 c Elbow macaroni**
1 oz Maggi Seasoning OR
-1 tb Soy sauce 1/2 ts Salt, optional
1/2 ts Pepper
2 Green onions, chopped
*light if desired (don't use non-fat) **cooked al Dente (be careful not to overcook) Brown butter in Dutch oven. Add remaining ingredients except onions, salt (if using) and pepper. Mix well. Simmer uncovered for 10 minutes. Add onions and cook 5 minutes more. Melinda's notes: I got this from an old Polish acquaintance long ago. I don't know how original Polish it is since it uses Maggi Seasoning, which I think is German, but we like it. Maggi Seasoning comes in a square-ish brown bottle and can be purchased in the gourmet section of your supermarket. I always omit the salt. The original recipe called for 4 oz. sour cream, but I like it with 8 oz. I usually use the light sour cream, but the non-fat doesn't do well, it seems to just dissolve and become tasteless. Happy Vlogmas! My Mom's family is Polish and we always ate homemade Polish Pierogies on Christmas Eve. She would make more than a hundred of them in the weeks before Christmas and we would help roll out the dough and stuff them. It was a big project but it was for a special occasion. Much of the rest of the year, when we felt like eating homemade pierogies, but didn't feel like doing all of the work to make them, we would eat this instead. The taste is the same and it's super quick and easy to make.

Ingredients:
1 cup plain flour
1 egg
1/3 cup of warm water
1 tbs of melted butter
1/2 tsp of salt
Instructions:
Mix flour, egg, water and salt in a mixing bowl using spoon. If dough is too hard to stir add a little bit more water.
Bring large, flat pot of water to boil. Using tablespoon place portions of the dough in the water.
Cook for about 5 minutes, remove from the pot with slotted spoon or drain in a colander.
Serve with a stew, sauce, melted butter or heavy cream and sugar.

Happy Vlogmas! This is a very quick and easy recipe for Polish Poppy Seed Noodles. This can be made as a side dish or eaten as a main meal. It was often made ande eaten during the winter months. Grandpa and I like to make a meal out of it like my family did during the Great Depression. You can add as many or as few poppy seeds as you like.
