How To make Red Clover Tea
Ingredients
1
red clover, fresh, handful
1
blossoms, few leaves
1
lemon
1
honey
1
mint leaves (optional), fresh -and/or- several dandelion leaves (optional)
Directions:
Put the blossoms and leaves into a 2-cup earthenware teapot. Fill teapot with boiling water, cover, and infuse for 5 to 10 minutes over very low heat. Set the pot on a trivet over the burner, if necessary, to protect it from breaking. Strain into a hot cup, add a twist of lemon and sweeten with honey.
Some fresh mint leaves and/or several dandelion leaves can be used with the clover blossoms.
Note: Red clover blossoms may be dried to use for tea. Spread the blossoms out into a single layer on a tray and dry them in the sun. Use less of the dried flowers, 1 to 1 1/2 tsp. to 1 cup of water, to make the tea.
Yield: 2 cups.

Red clover, a beautiful flower that some people are lucky enough to have growing in their backyard. Personally, I have tons of white clover, but unfortunately not the red variety.
Red clover is not just a pretty flower, it's also used medicinally and is very blood cleansing. It is also a very nutritive plant. Additionally, red clover is known for its hormone regulating properties, thanks to the presence of phytoestrogens in the flower.
For those who are experiencing menopausal symptoms, red clover can be really helpful. I personally love red clover for its blood cleansing abilities. Overall, the red clover is a versatile and valuable plant. #redclover #phytoestrogens #menopause #bloodcleansing #medicinalplants

Harvesting and Making A Red Clover Tincture
*** Disclaimer: I am not a doctor nor am I a practicing physician. Just an herbalist doing what comes naturally for my family. If you choose to make these tinctures you are doing it of your own free will. You are a adult that can make their own choices.
Hello and welcome to Old Ways Gardening and Prepping.???? Would like to welcome you each out to my backyard on this beautiful morning. Today we are going to be talking about harvesting and making a red clover tincture.
The medicinal benefits of red clover is huge and I am so thankful to have several big patches of it growing on our property. Thankfully it is organic and I plan on keeping it that way.
Let's delve in to the medicinal benefits of red clover. Trifolium pratense (red clover) is a wild plant belonging to the legume family. It's also used to support proper lymphatic function (alterative), immune support, healthy skin, and proper endocrine function. Red Clover has been found to contain estrogen mimicking flavonoids, known as phytoestrogens these substances can contribute to maintaining normal estrogen levels during menopause. It is especially helpful and balancing estrogen levels in women helping to decrease the amount of hot flashes and night sweats.
Research shows that Red Clovers isoflavones may slow down bone loss and increase mineral density in menopausal women, reducing the risk of osteoporosis. In other research red Clover can reduce the risk of depression and anxiety in post-menopausal women. It also promotes the drainage of mucus from the lungs by thinning the mucus and lubricating an irritated respiratory tract.
This is just a small bit of the medicinal uses of red clover. Please continue to do research to see if it is one of the promising herbs that might help your ailments. As always it is best to do more research on each medicinal plants and then go from there. However personally I will suggest to avoid the medical pages because they don't like to give the honest truth about how wonderful medicinal plants really work.
Hope this video encourages you to grow as well as harvest your own red clover. If you have any questions please feel free to ask them in the comment section below I will answer them as soon as possible. Everyone take care and have a blessed day.
Blessings,
Teresa
