3 slices turkey bacon -- cooked and chopped 24 slices day-old French bread -- about 1/4-inch -- thick 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese RICOTTA FILLING 1 cup dry bread crumbs 1 cup nonfat ricotta cheese 2 egg whites or 1/4 cup cholesterol-free egg product 3 tablespoons chopped fresh or 1 tablespoon dried basil leaves 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon pepper 1 clove garlic -- finely chopped Set oven control to broil. Mix Ricotta Filling and bacon. Spread about 1 tablespoon ricotta mixture on each bread slice. Sprinkle 1/2 teaspoon cheese on each. So you've seen how I prepared the Baguette and a couple options for the Crostini Bar. In this video I'll be making a sweet Crostini topping: Creamy Ricotta drizzled with Honey and topped with some fresh Strawberries and Lemon zest. Not only is this an interesting dish to serve at a party but it's great for Breakfast too. I start by taking my toasted Crostini that I brushed with melted butter and spoon on a little bit of Ricotta. Then I take a little bit of Honey and just drizzle it on top. Finally I'm grabbing my ripest Strawberries to get maximum flavor and then I just slice it into quarters. I'll layer some slices on the Ricotta and then I'm taking a lemon and just zesting it directly on top. This will brighten and bring all the flavors together. And my Crostini Bar is complete with this Honey Ricotta Crostini with fresh Strawberries. Now that I have three different Crostinis, the Roasted Beets with Goat Cheese and Arugula, the Avocado with Smoked Salmon and shaved Parmesan, and the Honey Ricotta Crostini with fresh Strawberries, I like to arrange them together on a plate or a cutting board to give people some options.
