How To make South Seas Combo
2 lb Lean Ground Beef
1/2 c Onion; Chopped, 1 Md
1 c Celery; Sliced
2 1/2 c Apple;Pared,Coarsely Chopped
1 x Curry Powder; To Taste,2-3ts
2 tb Unbleached Flour
2 ts Beef Bouillon; Instant
1 c Water
4 oz Mushroom Stems & Pieces; *
2 tb Sherry; Optional
2 ea Bananas; Peeled And Sliced
4 c Rice; Hot, Cooked
* Use 1 4-oz can of mushroom stems and pieces that has been drained. ~------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cook and stir the meat and onion in a large skillet until the onion is tender and the meat is browned. Drain off the excess fat. Stir in the celery, apple, and curry powder and cook, uncovered, for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in the remaining ingredients except the bananas and rice and heat to boiling. Reduce the heat and simmer, uncovered about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in the bananas then recover and cook over low heat for 5 minutes. Serve over the rice. If you wish you can garnish the dish with crisply fried bacon or chopped peanuts when you serve it. NOTE: You can substitute 1 13 1/2 oz can of pineapple chunks, that has been drained, for the sliced bananas.

Ingredients
1 tbsp Ginger-garlic paste
6 tbsp red chilli pwd
¼ cumin seeds
4-5 peppercorn
1 inch Cinnamon stick
5 Cloves
pinch Fenugreek seeds
¼ tsp brown or black mustard seeds
¼ tsp turmeric powder
Salt as required
1 tsp Sugar
200 ml White Vinegar
Besan for frying
5 Mackerel fish or any of your choice
Method
- Marinate the banga fish with salt, turmeric powder and keep it aside for some time.
- Grind all the spices together – pepper corns, cinnamon stick, cumin seeds, fenugreek, sugar, cloves, mustard seeds, chilli powder, turmeric, salt, ginger garlic paste and vinegar and run it into a fine smooth paste.
- Add vinegar to get the paste consitency.
- Apply the masala to the fish.
- Heat some oil in pan, and keep the gas on medium flame.
- Sprinkle the besan top of the fish, flip it and again sprinkle it with besan
- Fry the fish in the pan, make sure they are cook evenly from both the sides.
- For plating place the fish fry along with add some lime wedges and coriander leaves.
- Bangda Fish Fry is ready to be served.

Ingredients for Fish Fry:
- Rohu/Katla/Asian Carp fish pieces( 5-6 big pieces)- 500 gms
Marinate with:
- Salt- 1.25 tsp
- Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
- Red Chilli Powder- 1 tbsp
- Coriander powder- 1.25 tsp
- Garam masala powder- 3/4 tsp (Link to our Garam Masala Recipe:
- Juice of lemon- 2 tsp
- Ginger garlic paste- 1 tbsp
- Curry leaves chopped- 2 tbsp
- Coriander leaves chopped- 2 tbsp
- Oil- 2 tbsp
For frying:
- Oil- 3 tbsp
Preparation:
- Clean and wash the fish pieces.
- Chop the curry leaves and coriander leaves.
- Add all the items for the marinade specified above. Mix it well and set aside for 1 hr.
Process:
- Take a frying pan and heat the oil.
- Now place the fish pieces side by side and fry on medium heat for 3 mins. Reduce the heat to low and continue to fry for another 3 mins.
- Now turn the pieces on the other side and repeat the same on the other side (on medium heat for 3 mins and then on low heat for another 3 mins.)
- Turn it again and continue frying on low heat for 2 mins more on both sides.
