Betty's Stained Glass Cookies
Betty demonstrates how to make Stained Glass Cookies for your dinner table. These will add some interest and will be enjoyed by children as well as adults.
Stained Glass Cookies
1/2 cup butter
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped English walnuts
10-ounce package colored mini marshmallows
flaked or shredded coconut, as needed
cooking oil spray
Melt 1/2 cup butter and 2 cups semisweet chocolate in the top of a double boiler. Cool until workable with hands. Stir in 1 cup English walnuts and a 10-ounce package of colored mini-marshmallows. Spray your hands with cooking oil spray and divide mixture into two equal parts on waxed paper. Form each part into a log (about 1 1/2-inches in diameter) and roll it in flaked or shredded coconut (on waxed paper), until well-covered. Chill 24 hours, then slice. When sliced, the colored marshmallows resemble stained glass windows. I hope you enjoy this delightful treat! --Betty

Stained Glass Cookies Recipe Demonstration - Joyofbaking.com
Recipe here: Stephanie Jaworski of Joyofbaking.com demonstrates how to make Stained Glass Cookies. Sugar Cookies are a sweet and tender cookie with wonderfully crisp edges. They are an American favorite and are especially popular during the Christmas season. You can turn Sugar Cookies into Stained Glass Cookies simply by cutting out the centers of the cookies and filling them with colorful crushed hard candy. The transformation takes place in the oven, when the candy melts making it look like colored glass. Pretty to look at and delicious to eat.

1 Cup | 125g Sugar
1 Egg
1 tsp Vanilla
3 Cups | 375g Flour
1/2 tsp Baking Powder
1/4 tsp Salt
20-30 Hard Candies
2 Cups | 250g Icing Sugar | Powdered Sugar

Directions
Cream the butter and sugar together until light and pale.
Crack in the egg and add the vanilla and mix until well combined.
