Red Wine Marinated Sirloin Steak Recipe
Serves: 4-6
2 lbs. sirloin steak, cut into 1 ½ inch pieces
Montreal steak seasoning (just before grilling)
Kosher salt (just before grilling)
Marinade
1 C dry red wine (I used a red zinfandel)
4 cloves garlic, smashed
3 T olive oil
2 T soy sauce, low sodium
2 T honey
Put all the above ingredients into a labeled gallon size freezer bag (except the Montreal seasoning and salt). Let this marinade at least 2 hours or overnight. This can stay in your freezer up to 3 months. Take out and put in your refrigerator the night before you want to grill it.
Heat your grill to medium high heat. Put your meat onto your skewers. If you’re using wood skewers, soak them for at least 30 minutes before you grill so they don’t burn. I like using metal skewers.
Drain the marinade and pat the meat dry. Place the meat on skewers, this made 5 big skewers. Drizzle with a bit of olive oil. Season liberally with Montreal steak seasoning and kosher salt. If you don’t have Montreal seasoning, kosher salt and black pepper would be fine. Steak can handle lots of seasoning.
This will only take 8-10 minutes on the grill, turning just once. Once the steak is done, take off the grill and let it rest for 5-10 minutes.
Enjoy!
