Breakfast Couscous / Healthy Break Fast
Breakfast Couscous / Healthy Break Fast
Breakfast is indeed a very important meal. A good breakfast fuels you up and gets you ready for the day.
In general, kids and teens who eat breakfast have more energy, do better in school, and eat healthier throughout the day. Without breakfast, people can get irritable, restless, and tired. So make time for breakfast — for you and your kids!
During a busy morning, it's easy to let breakfast fall low in your list of priorities, but taking just a few minutes to have something to eat can really make a difference to your day. If you don't have time to eat before leaving the house, we have lots of breakfast ideas that can be eaten on-the-go or when you get to work.
Breakfast provides the body and brain with fuel after an overnight fast - that's where its name originates, breaking the fast! Without breakfast you are effectively running on empty, like trying to start the car with no petrol!
Nutritionists advise:
• breakfast should be eaten within two hours of waking
• a healthy breakfast should provide calories in the range of 20-35% of your guideline daily allowance (GDA).
Apart from providing us with energy, breakfast foods are good sources of important nutrients such as calcium, iron and B vitamins as well as protein and fibre. The body needs these essential nutrients and research shows that if these are missed at breakfast, they are less likely to be compensated for later in the day. Fruit and vegetables are good sources of vitamins and minerals so try to include a portion of your daily five at breakfast, whether that be a banana or glass of fruit juice.
Moroccan Couscous stew | Couscous with Seven Vegetable -Vegan Edition
This humble, yet extremely colorful and rich Couscous with Seven Vegetable dish takes me all the way back to warm and cozy childhood family weekly dinners with my parents and siblings around the table, enjoying every single bite of this welcoming and belly-warming meal. My mom still makes it with chicken or meat, or some bones... BUT, I'm so excited to show you my vegetarian/ vegan version, which is no less than PERFECTION. I actually add a very non-traditional ingredient that makes it taste juts like meat, and I can't wait to hear your thoughts on that one. Dig in to the video and make it for your family and friends. Enjoy!!!!

Mesfouf / Farka Recipe (مصفف) | Sweetened Couscous | South Africa | EatMee Recipes
Mesfouf also known as Farka is a Tunisian & Algerian breakfast consisting of sweetened steamed couscous.
⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️ CLICK FOR INGREDIENTS ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️
I know what you're thinking, how can couscous be sweetened because it is so often eaten as a savoury dish & added as a side to any meal. Well, let me just say that this breakfast is so yum that it can even be eaten as a dessert. If you didn't already know, couscous is actually semolina that has been rolled in flour & processed together, so yes it can be enjoyed as a sweet dish too.
If you havent tried Mesfouf / Farka as yet, I highly recommend giving it a try - even the kids are going to love it.
Note that if you add orange blossom water to this then it becomes a Moroccan dessert called Seffa - cool right!

Couscous Chickpea Recipe | Easy Breakfast Or Lunch Or Dinner Recipe
Couscous is a tiny pasta made of wheat or barley. There are three different types of couscous: Moroccan, which is the smallest; Israeli or pearl couscous, about the size of peppercorns; and Lebanese, the largest of the three. Here I used the smallest one.
