How To make "Guardian Angel" Torte
1 package chocolate pudding mix
1 cup milk
1/2 cup sour cream
1 angel food cake, -- (9 or 10-inch cake)
1 cup heavy cream
3 tablespoons confectioners' sugar
shaved chocolate
Combine pudding mix and milk; cok until mixture boils. Cool slightly; stir in sour cream. Chill thoroughly. Split cake in 2 or 3 layers. Spread chocolate mixture between layers. Cover top and sides of cake with whipped cream, sweetened with condectioners sugar. Garnish with shaved chocolate. Serves 10. Posted by Ethel Snyder <essie49@juno.com> Date: August 08, 1997
How To make "Guardian Angel" Torte's Videos
Angel Kisses Dump Cake Recipe
This is a twist on what I know as the original dump cake with cherries and pineapple. I add spices that provide loving support for your guardian angel: cinnamon, allspice, and apple pie spice.
Oven: 350 degrees
Pan: 9 x 13
Ingredients:
1 can pie cherries (21 oz)
1 t cinnamon (I use a tablespoon)
2 t apple pie spice (I use a tablespoon)
1 t allspice
1 can crushed pineapple (21 oz)
1 box white or yellow cake mix
1 stick of butter cut into small pieces
1 c finely chopped pecans
Dump the fruit and spices in the bottom of a 9x13 pan. Mix well.
Dup dry cake mix over top of the fruit and spread it out evenly.
Arrange butter pieces over cake mix.
Sprinkle pecans over butter.
Bake for 45-55 mins or until golden.
Let cool for 20 mins or so before serving.
I like to serve it warm with cinnamon, buttered pecan, or French vanilla ice cream, or whipped cream.

Cake Mix
INGREDIENTS:
1 box classic yellow cake mix
1 cup milk
6 tbsp unsalted butter, room temperature
1 c confectioners' sugar
1 tbsp matcha powder
4 tbsp anko (sweetened adzuki bean paste) TSUBU AN
pinch salt
1 tbsp milk
DIRECTIONS:
Combine cake mix and milk and mix until smooth and no lumps. Oil your griddle or skillet and pour about 3 tbsp batter on. Cook for 3-4 minutes on medium-low heat and the edges start to become dry. Flip the pancakes over and cook for 1-2 more minutes or until done. Transfer pancakes to a plate and let them cool while you make the filling.
Cream the butter until smooth. Then add in confectioners's sugar and milk. Cream together until smooth. Add 1 tbsp matcha powder to the mixture and mix until incorporated. Add a crop of anko to the cooled pancake and spread to flatten. Top it off with a tablespoon of matcha frosting. Finally top it off with another pancake. Press down gently to enclose the filling. Enjoy!
