Tuna Hotdish @CookingwAnushka
Hey everybody and welcome back!
Music instrumental At Last by Etta James
Tuna Hotdish/Casserole is a 1950s American classic cuisine due to all the canned, quick and easy ingredients it contains! My boyfriend first introduced me to this dish a year ago, and I have made it my own with a few extra ingredients just to liven it up!
Prep time: 5-10 minutes
Cook time 20-30 minutes
Serving size: 4-6 people
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon of oil
Rotini pasta (1 box)
1 22.06 oz. can of cream of mushroom soup
2 3 oz. cans of tuna (may use one can)
Sliced mushrooms
¼ cup of cheese (shredded is preferred to melt easier and may use cheese of preference in this video Havarti pepper jack cheese was used)
Cilantro to garnish
In a medium sized saucepan, put in 1 tablespoon of oil, and saute the mushrooms (5-10 minutes). Put to the side. While the mushrooms are sauteing, in a large pot, boil water, and cook and drain pasta for 10-15 minutes. Once the pasta is drained, on no heat, add in cream of mushroom soup, tuna, sauteed mushrooms, and stir. On low, add in cheese and mix until it melts. Once the cheese has melted, garnish with cilantro. There you have it, a creamy, classic American favorite!
