How To make American Bean Bread
1 2/3 cups pinto beans
cooked, sieved OR
1 15 oz can pinto beans :
w/liquid, sieved
1 1/2 cups cornmeal
2 eggs beaten
3/4 cup buttermilk
salt :
to taste 1 teaspoon baking soda
Combine all the ingredients, beating just enough to make a smooth batter. Turn into a greased loaf pan and bake 45-50 minutes in an oven preheated to 375. When top browns and sides pull away from the pan, turn out and cool on a rack. Delicious warm with butter. Source: Biscuits, Spoonbread, and Sweet Potato Pie, p. 31

Homemade Pinto Bean Bread
Hello and welcome to Old Ways Gardening and Prepping.???? Would like to welcome you each in to the kitchen with me on this beautiful evening. Tonight we are going to be making a old favorite recipe of mine for pinto bean bread.
It is a very simple and delicious bread that you can easily make. Love old recipes that only call for a few ingredients and the end result is delicious. This recipe was passed down through a dear friend of my Grandmother's so want to keep the Tradition alive and thriving.
Below is the recipe for this amazing bread. Just like I said in the video you can substitute any bean or bean mixture that you enjoy.
Pinto Bean Bread
2 cups of mashed/refried pinto beans
2 cups of warm milk
2 TBsp's of melted butter
1 TBsp of salt
1 TBsp or 2 pouches of yeast
5-6 cups of all purpose flour or bread flour plus extra for kneading
