Step-by-step making a facial oil | Includes Formula (recipe)
In this video I walk through formulating a natural skincare product from beginning to end.
The product I made is a facial oil that is for congested skin, aiding in brightening and protecting the skin barrier as we move into the hotter weather of summer. The formula is listed below:
Jojoba oil 35% (I infused vanilla beans into this oil)
Cucumber Seed Oil 25%
Apple Seed Oil 25%
Papaya Seed Oil 14.9% (unrefined oil has a beautiful scent reminiscent of the fresh fruit)
Rosemary CO2 Extract .1%
To use: Press 4-5 drops onto damp clean skin morning and night. Can be used directly after cleansing or on top of any serums and moisturizers. Can also be added to face masks for an extra luxurious experience.

FULL RECIPE:
Follow this recipe and you’ll end up with the flakiest buttery scones.
In this video, I show you how to make plain homemade scones but I also give you some ideas on how to mix this recipe up. These scones can either be sweet scones or savoury scones. You can add raisins to make raisin scones or you can add cheddar to make cheese scones.
I enjoy these scones with jam but you could make these into the traditional English scones by adding clotted cream and jam - yum!

Cooking 17th Century recipe - APPLE TANSEY
Each week I am going to be cooking a recipe from the past. This week I am trying the 17th century recipe, apple tansey
APPLE TANSEY RECIPEIngredients3 apples, cored and sliced thin3 tablespoons butter4 large eggs2 tablespoons whipping cream2 teaspoons rose water¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg2 tablespoons sugarMethod1. Preheat the oven to 170c (This is what I used)2. In an 8-inch cast iron skillet, melt butter over medium heat on the stove top.3. Add apples and cook about 5 to 8 minutes, turning as needed, until slightly softened.4. Arrange apples as desired, remembering that the apple tansey will be flipped and the bottom will become the top. Once apples are arranged, allow to caramelize over the heat as you prepare the egg mixture.5. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, whipping cream, rose water, nutmeg, and sugar until smooth. Pour over apples and continue to cook for 3 to 4 minutes or until the edges and bottom are set.6. Transfer skillet to the oven and cook under the broiler an additional 2 to 3 minutes until the egg is completely cooked and top is lightly browned.7. Remove skillet from oven. Set a large, flat plate over the top of the skillet and carefully flip over to release the tansey onto the plate.8. Cut into slices and serve garnished with powdered sugar, coarse sugar, or lemon wedges.
