How To make Butterburgers
1 lb lean ground beef
1/2 c cottage cheese
1 egg
3/4 tsp dry mustard
3 tbsp melted butter
1 tsp salt
1 tsp MSG
1 tbsp chopped green onions
5 tbsp melted butter
1 tsp worcestershire sauce
In a bowl mix the cottage cheese, egg, seasonings and green onion. Add the 3 tablespoons melted butter. Beat to mix. Add the ground beef and mix well. Make into 4 patties. Melt the 5 tablespoons butter in a hot frying pan. Cook the "burgers" to your liking, turning only once. Cut 4 hamburger buns in half. Dip cut sides into pan drippigs and place under broiler until lightly toasted. Place meat between bun halves and garnish with pickle fans. These have a good beefy flavor enhanced by the goodness of butter. When you want flavor .. use butter.

Learn how to make homemade butter burgers the Culver's way!! These cheeseburgers are thin, juicy, crispy around the edges, packed full of flavor and are my preferred way of having a burger. They are super easy to make, don't take a lot of time to cook up and are amazingly delicious. To make them even better, add a few slices of bacon. You can thank me later... ;-)
What you'll need:
80-85% lean ground beef
potato or kaiser buns (4)
American cheese (or cheddar for traditional Wisconsin butterburgers)
ketchup
yellow mustard
pickles
iceburg lettuce
tomato slices
red onion slices and/or rings
My seasoned pepper recipe:
2 Tbsp salt
2 Tsp sugar
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp paprika
1/4 tsp turmeric
1/4 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp garlic powder
Mix together and store in a shaker top bottle. Use for burgers, steaks, potatoes, french fries, grilled chicken, etc. The perfect seasoned salt/pepper recipe!

Cast Iron Brown Butter Cheeseburger
This is a cheeseburger that I cooked for my son in my Nest Homeware cast iron skillet (nesthomeware.com). It is rare that I get to cook just one cheeseburger, so I put a lot of love into this one! The is nothing like a burger cooked in cast iron.
This video is meant to demonstrate the method. Season you burger however you like, use whatever cheese you like, and cook to whatever doneness you like. It's your burger – do it your way!!
Before cooking, the skillet was preheated to 425º F. This temperature works well with thick burgers. For thinner burgers, go with a higher temperature so that the crust forms quickly without overcooking. I use an infrared thermometer to measure skillet temperatures. I find it to be a very valuable tool when exact temperatures matter.
