How To make Buttermilk Rolls
2 ea Yeast cakes
1/4 c Sugar
1 1/2 c Buttermilk; lukewarm
1/2 c Shortening; melted
5 c Flour; sifted
1 ts Baking soda
1/4 c Poppy seeds
Crumble yeast cakes into bowl. Add sugar, buttermilk, stirring until dissolved. Stir in butter. Mix and sift flour, salt and baking soda. Stir into first mixture. Allow to rise in a warm place about 1/2 hour. Shape as desired, bruch with additional melted butter, sprinkle with poppy seeds and allow to rise again on greased pans until about double in bulk. Bake about 20 minutes in hot oven 400 F. Makes about 2 doz. rolls.

Ingredients (buttermilk filling)
1/3 cup butter (salted)/ 75g butter
5 tbsp icing sugar/65g icing sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla essence
1/3 cup flour/40g flour
4 tbsp milk powder/ 25g milk powder
Ingredients (Dough)
1 cup warm water/ 200g ~ please add little by little
2 tsp instant dried yeast/8g
2 tbsp castor sugar/(27g)
2 1/2 cups flour (Im using all purpose flour) *You can also use High protein flour (much better)/ 389g
1 tsp salt (3g-4g)
1 egg/ 57g with shell
1 tbsp butter/ (18g)

Soft Hybrid Buttermilk Dinner Rolls
Hybrid means the rolls are made with both commercial yeast and sourdough starter. These scrumptious soft rolls can be started and baked on the same day. They are soft, shreddable and delicious. They are similar to a brioche roll.
