I have a christmas party coming up so I thought I’d make an interesting desert for it.
My friends sort of know me as the guy that cooks interesting stuff, so I figured I try a new recipe I saw on pinterest.
The recipe called for putting small candy bars inside of brownies, and since the video would be short and boring if I used a box brownie mix, I’m going to try a new recipe that uses oil instead of butter like in the streusel brownies.
You are going to need 3/8 tsp of baking powder, 3/4 cup of vegetable oil, 1 1/2 cups sugar, 3 eggs, 3/4 cup of flour, 1/3 cup + 2 1/2 tbsp cocoa powder, 1/2 tsp vanilla extract, and 1/4 tsp of salt.
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and grab a 9x9 square pan. In a medium sized mixing bowl, combine the oil, sugar, and vanilla. Then, stir in each egg completely. Finally, add the flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt. It wouldn’t be a bad idea to combine the dry ingredients separately, but doing it this way seemed to work out just fine, brownies are pretty bullet-proof.
The kind of candy bars I’m using are from a variety pack, I think it’s important to use very small chocolates or it will overwhelm the brownies. I used about half of the bag and just laid out a single layer on the bottom of the pan.
I then just poured on the brownie batter and baked at the 350 degree oven for 25-30 minutes. It’s worth noting that the usual method of sticking a toothpick into the brownies to see if they are done doesn’t work too well since the toothpick will probably hit a candy bar, so make sure you try the brownies in a few spots to make sure they’re done.
I got a little too excited to try these brownies, so I pulled them out too soon. The brownies were still delicious, but they were too gooey to hold their structure, so make sure you cook them until they’re ready.
Next week I’m going to try to make andes mint cookies, so you can subscribe to my channel below and that video will show up next Friday in your feed.

Ingredients
*Brownie Layer
1 Box Brownie Mix
1/3 Cup Milk
1/2 Cup Butter, melted
1 Egg + 1 Egg Yolk
*Snickers Layer
1 Bag Snickers Minis, unwrapped, approximately 49 pieces
*Caramel Layer
1 Bag Caramel Bits
1/3 Cup Evaporated Milk
*Ganache Layer
1 Cup Dark Chocolate Chips
1/2 Cup Heavy Cream
Instructions
[1] Brownie Layer- In a mixing bowl, combine the brownie mix, egg, egg yolk, milk, and melted butter. Generously spray an 8x8 glass baking with nonstick cooking spray and pour in the batter. Use a silicone spatula to level the batter. Bake at 325 degrees for 45-50 minutes.
[2] Snickers Layer - While the brownies are baking, begin to unwrap the Snickers bars. When the brownies have finished baking and are still warm, sprinkle the chopped candy bars over the brownies. Place the baking dish back in the oven for 2 minutes to slightly melt the Snickers.
[3] Caramel Layer - Place the caramel and evaporated milk in a saucepan and melt over low heat. Stir constantly until it is smooth and completely melted. Pour the melted caramel over the Snickers layer.
[4]Ganache Layer - Place the chocolate chips and heavy cream in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave at 50% power for 60 seconds. Remove and stir. Place the ganache back into the microwave and heat at 50% power for another 30 seconds. Remove and stir. Repeat at 30 second intervals, stirring in between, until the ganache is melted. Pour the ganache over the caramel layer of the brownies.
[4] Allow the brownies to cool completely. Cut the brownies into squares, or strips, if you want them to look like the Choco-Smash Candy Bar.

I’m absolutely loving Dairy Milk Caramel at the moment ???? I also really fancied some really chocolatey, fudgy brownies…
I’ve made so many things recently with Dairy Milk Caramel, these stuffed brownies had to be next ????
Sound on for full instructions ????
All you need is:
170g unsalted butter, melted & cooled slightly
250g caster sugar
2 large eggs
125g dark chocolate, melted & cooled slightly
100g plain flour
30g cocoa powder
1 tsp salt
400g Dairy Milk Caramel (more if needed, depending on tin size)
Tin size: 8x8”
Bake 170C (fan) 25-30 mins - or until the top is cracked and it no longer wobbles
For best results, allow to cool fully in the tin, then refrigerate overnight. Remove from the fridge about 20-30 minutes before cutting into pieces ????
(The piece of brownie in the second video has been warmed in the microwave for 10 seconds ????)
Happy Baking everybody!
