How To make Cheese and Wine Bread
Jim Vorheis 1 c Plus 2 tb all-purpose
-flour 1/2 ts Baking powder
1/4 ts Cream of tartar
1/2 ts Salt
1/8 ts Baking soda
1/4 c Instant nonfat dry milk
1/3 c Vegetable shortening
1 tb Sugar
1 tb Minced onion
1 Egg, beaten
1/4 c Milk
1/4 c White wine
1/2 ts Dried oregano
1/4 c Freshly grated Parmesan
-cheese
Sift together flour, baking powder, cream of tartar, salt, soda and dry milk. Cut in shortening until the mixture resembles coarse meal. Add sugar, minced onion, egg, milk, wine and oregano. Mix thoroughly. Spread mixture in greased 8 or 9-inch round pan and sprinkle with cheese. Bake at 425 F for 15-20 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Today's video recipe is bread with wine. We used to make this after working on the farm all day. It was easy to make and only took a minute or two. We used our own homemade wine back in Orsara and fresh made bread.

1 dash freshly ground black pepper
4 ounces plain goat cheese, at room temperature
4 large, 1-inch-thick slices country bread, grilled or toasted
