Enjoy this quick, easy, and delicious cornmeal biscuit!
The ingredients I use are as follows:
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
-3/4 cup refined cornmeal
-1 1/2 tbsp baking powder
-2 tbsp brown sugar
-1/4 tsp salt
-2 cup milk
-3/4 cup unsalted coarsely grated butter
Optional ingredients:
-1 tsp vanilla
-1/4 tsp cinnamon powder
- 3/4 cup Raisins
- chocolate chip of your choice

Mystical Munchies - Cornmeal Biscuits
Mystical Munchies features a recipe that will go well with the pot of chili I have cooking in the crock pot! Today we're making the side, Cornmeal Biscuits! Tune in, and see me make this recipe! Recipe below.
Prep: 5 Minutes Baking: 25-30 Minutes Yield: About a dozen biscuits
Ingredients
• 1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 cup cornmeal
• 2 ½ teaspoons baking powder
• ½ teaspoon salt
• ½ cup salted butter
• ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
• 1 cup buttermilk
Preparing the Recipe
1. Preheat the oven to 375, and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Combine the flour, cornmeal, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl. Rub or cut in the butter until no large chunks remain. Add the shredded cheese and toss to distribute evenly, then stir in the buttermilk until the mixture is just moistened.
3. Drop the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet, ¼ cup at a time, leaving about 2 inches between each to accommodate spreading as the biscuits bake. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top of the biscuits are golden brown.

Servings: 17-18 pieces.
Ingredients:
- 1 egg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 75 grams of sugar (1/3 cup)
- 40 ml milk
- 75 ml vegetable oil
- 150 grams corn flour (US)/maize flour (UK) (1 cup)
- 100 grams of wheat flour (1/2 cup)
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
Bake in preheated 350°F (180°C) oven / 15 minutes.

Corn Meal Biscuits Recipe ~ Noreen's Kitchen
Greetings! Tonight I am heating up some leftover pan chili that I made on Sunday. I went back and forth on what to do. I could have made tamale pie or chili with cornbread dumplings, but I decided to make these wonderful cornmeal biscuits.
These are just like a buttermilk, baking powder biscuit except with the addition of cornmeal. It makes a heartier biscuit that can stand up to a thick chili or stew. It is also wonderful slathered with butter and drizzled with honey. It is filling and nutritious. I like to have options when it comes to my food storage and this really fits the bill. You could make your flour and cornmeal stretch by employing this method of biscuit making.
