Making Tarte Aux Fruits | Kingdom Hearts 3 | Disney DIY
I decided to recreate Little Chef's delicious Tarte Aux Fruits! Click the link to see the recipe I used for this video here:
To make this recipe accurate to the game, the fruits I used were yellow peaches, white nectarines, strawberries, blueberries, kiwis, and mint for garnish (This is for the version given to Sora, Donald, and Goofy). For the version used in the mini game, you will also need melon, watermelon, grapes, cherries, bananas, and blood orange.
Also, I made a glaze from powdered sugar and water instead of the glaze included in the recipe. I also used this glaze, mixed with some kiwi pulp and green food coloring, to make the plate embellishment.
Bake at your own risk.

Binging with Babish: Courtesan au Chocolat from Grand Budapest Hotel
Pre-order my first cookbook, Eat What You Watch: A Cleverly-Titled Romp Through the Fanciful Fêtes of Fiction! Really it's just called Eat What You Watch, but I totally should have called it that instead.
Amazon:
Barnes & Noble:
Wes Anderson's films are rife with clashing color schemes, furrow-browed pedantry, and rich character development set against an oddly symmetrical backdrop. In the case of The Grand Budapest Hotel, it's also home to a pastry as precious as its parentage. The Courtesan au Chocolat, a delicate tower of puffed up pâtissière and saccharine masonry, is the challenge faced this week in the BwB kitchen.

Crepes:
1 egg
2/3 cup milk
1/2 cup flour
2 TBL sugar
1 1/2 TBL butter, more for coating pan
Pinch of salt
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Sauce:
1/3 cup sugar
1/4 cup butter
1/3 cup orange juice
1 TBL lemon juice
1 1/2 TBL brandy, optional
To serve:
Ice cream
Orange slice
Fresh mint
For crepes: In a medium bowl, place flour, salt, egg, butter, sugar, vanilla, and half of your milk. Mix until combined and no lumps remain. Then, whisk in the rest of your milk.
Place an 8 inch non-stick pan on medium low. Melt a little butter and spread it around with a wad of paper towel. Add about a 1/4 cup of batter into the pan and swirl it around to form a very thin crepe. Cook until it’s lightly golden around the edges. Then, carefully loosen it around the edges and flip it. Cook another minute or two and remove to cool on a plate. Repeat with the rest of the batter.
Sauce: In the same pan, place sugar and cook over low heat until it’s light blonde. DON’T TOUCH IT, IT WILL BURN. Turn off the heat and add the butter all at once. Then, place back over low heat and add orange juice and lemon juice. Cook over medium heat for about five minutes or until the sauce tightens up a little.
To flambé, optional: Off the heat, add brandy to the sauce. Light with a match and allow the alcohol to burn off. Don’t do this unless you have a fire extinguisher handy.
To assemble: Fold crepes twice into triangles and stack on a plate. Drizzle with sauce, and top with vanilla ice cream, orange slice, and mint. Serve immediately.
Binging with Babish: Crème Brûlée from Amelie
Amelie has no boyfriend. Instead, she has a grab-bag of cute, twee French girl activities - and what could be more twee or french than all the dainty little circumflexes and accents sprinkled atop crème brûlée? Use your culinary torch for something other than sous vide and 6-paper-joints for once, and follow along as we recreate this delectable Francophilian fancyfood.
