Dates bread pudding recipe, pudding recipe for Christmas
Dates Pudding recipe is a sligthly twisted version of the classic bread pudding with the Jim Beam Bourbon sauce. Here just sugar is replaced by fresh dates and a little less bread is used. Plus I have used some extra nuts. Sugar has been replaced by dates even in the dressing Bourbon sauce. With it's goodness of whole food, dates gives a better sweetness to this dessert.
SOME IMPORTANT NOTES:
1)You can enjoy this dessert both cold and warm. I myself prefer the
warm one. You can just cut a piece from the pudding, smother some
of the sauce and microwave just like 10-15 sec. The slight warmth
really enhances the taste of each of the ingredients.
2)You can even use some other nuts like cashews and hazelnuts, or
even other dried fruits.
INGREDIENTS:
For the pudding:
1) fresh dates 150 gm (seeds removed)
2) egg 1 large
3) white bread 150 gm (6-7) slices (better with the one with a hard
crust)
4) salt 1/4 tsp
5) pure vanilla extract 1 1/2 tsp
6) nutmeg 1/2 tsp (better if freshly ground)
7) butter 100 gm (melted and cooled)
8) fresh cream 1 cup
9) whole milk 1/2 cup
10) mixed nuts 75 gm
11) raisins 50 gm
For the sauce:
