How To make Flapjacks
2 c Flour
1 pn Sea salt
1 1/2 c Apple juice or milk
2 T Oil
2 Eggs
1/2 c Honey
2 ts Baking powder
1 Pippin apple; grated
Combine all ingredients, except the apple, with an electric mixer. Add apple and mix by hand. Spoon into oiled fry pan, at medium heat. Turn when bubbles appear and harden. Brown other side. Serve immediately with your choice of topping. We like honey and maple syrup best.

You’ll need
2 eggs
2 tbsp granulated sugar
200 ml milk
1 + ¼ cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp vanilla powder
To cook;
Oil
1 cup = 240 ml
Here’s how
1- Whisk together 2 eggs and 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar.
2- Add 200 ml of milk, 1 + ¼ cup of all-purpose flour, 2 tsp of baking powder and 2 tsp vanilla powder. Beat until you have a smooth batter.
3- Heat a lightly oiled non-stick frying pan over a medium heat.
4- Gently pour about 1 tbsp of batter onto the hot pan.
5- Wait until the bubbles form on the surface and once they start popping, flip the pancake over and cook until both sides are golden.
6- Repeat until all the batter is used up.
7- Once both sides are golden, transfer to a serving plate!

FLUFFY PANCAKE RECIPE
Ingredients
1½ Cups | 190g Flour
4 Teaspoons Baking Powder
Pinch of Salt
2 Tablespoons Sugar (optional)
1 Egg
1¼ Cups | 310ml Milk
¼ Cup | 60g Melted Butter + more for cooking
½ Teaspoon Vanilla Essence
Instructions
In a large bowl mix together the flour, baking powder and salt with a wooden spoon. Set to the side.
In a smaller bowl crack in the egg and pour in the milk.
Add the melted butter and vanilla essence to the egg and milk and use a fork to mix together until everything is well combined.
Make a well in the dry ingredients and pour in the wet. Fold the batter together with a wooden spoon until there are no longer any large lumps.
To cook the pancakes heat a heavy based pan like cast iron over medium low heat. When the pan is hot add a small amount of butter and ⅓ cup of the pancakes batter.
Cook the pancake for 2-3 minutes each side. Repeat with remaining batter.
Serve the pancakes stacked high with butter and maple syrup. Enjoy.
Notes
You can add other flavourings to the pancakes such as blueberries or chocolate chips. Add the extra ingredients at the same time as you combine the wet and dry ingredients.

In this video I show you how to make flapjacks. Flapjacks are a British classic baked oats bar, made from oats, butter and sugar. This is a basic flapjack recipe made using golden syrup however you can also add chocolate chips and nuts.

We’re back at our Kings Cross Cookery School with Chef Tutor Becca McGonagle as she makes super simple, super delicious and super sweet flapjacks.
Perfect to pop in a lunch box, a picnic or to have with a cup of tea, these easy flapjacks can be prepared and cooked in around 30 minutes. Sprinkle on some chopped nuts for extra crunch or a drizzle of melted chocolate.

Ingredients!
- 300g Porridge Oats
- 20 g Golden Syrup
- 225g Butter
- 100g Light Brown Sugar
Method!
1 - Preheat the oven to 180°C, line the baking tin with parchment paper and set aside for later.
2 - Pour the butter, golden syrup and light brown sugar into a large mixing pan. Melt on a medium to high heat stirring frequently. Once all melted take off the heat.
3 - Add the oats into the mixing bowl and stir until evenly distributed and all the oats are coated in the mixture. Once mixed pour the flapjack mixture into the lined baking tin and spread the mixture evenly.
4 - Bake in the oven for 20 minutes. Once baked, leave the flapjacks to cool as this will allow the flapjacks to harden. Then portion and enjoy!
