Homemade Cured Ham with Brown Sugar Honey Glaze
This video will show you how to make ham from scratch. This method involves curing ham in a brine solution. I also made brown sugar - honey glaze for the ham to make it look good and taste better.
This video contains the exact list of ingredients including the measurements for each.

To see this glaze used on a Christmas ham, see below:
The ratios I used in the video are estimates, so find what works for you to get your desired consistency. If you want it thicker, add more jam, if you want more colour, add more beetroot powder etc. Ratios/Ingredients below:
- 1 big tablespoon of butter
- 1 1/2 tablespoons of brown sugar
- 1 big teaspoon of plum jam (strawberry or other fruit jams work too)
- 1/2 shot of whiskey
- 1/2 teaspoon of beetroot powder (if you can't get it, add some straight red cordial in instead)
If you are going a big cook of pork ribs, then simply just double, triple or keep multiplying the ingredients until you get enough to get you through how many ribs you need to glaze!
As I mentioned in the video, if you don't have beetroot powder (I know, it's probably not the easiest thing to source), then add some straight red cordial instead and you'll get similar results!
I've since used this easy glaze recipe on a christmas ham and it was INCREDIBLE. Paired perfectly with it too. Highly recommend!

Defrost your ham until it's room temperature

Coat the ham with mustard
Sprinkle the ham with 1 tsp of ground ginger, 1 tsp of ground cinnamon, 1 tsp of ground cloves, and 1 tsp of black pepper and 1/4 cup of brown sugar.
Place the pineapples on the ham, place a cherry in the middle and pin the pineapples and cherries down with toothpicks
Add 1/3 cup of apple cider vinegar to baking pan
Place a pot over medium heat. Add 3 tbs of butter, 1 cup of brown sugar, 1/2 cup of honey, 1/2 cup of juice from can pineapples, and a lil juice from the can of cherries. Stir until slightly thickens
Brush over ham
Bake on 350 until tender, or until it reaches a temperature of 160 degrees, use a thermometer
Once done slowly inject remaining juice from the bottom of pan into ham
