How To make Grilled Fish with Winter Root Slaw
2 small sea bass,
cleaned, gutted and scaled
Salt and pepper 1/4 cup olive oil
1/2 cup each julienned carrot,
parsnips and celery root 1/4 cup walnuts, :
toasted and roughly chopped
3 tablespoons chervil leaves, -- plus extra sprigs for garnish
2 tablespoons champagne vinegar
1 teaspoon walnut oil
Light grill or pre-heat broiler. Cut a long slit in flesh of sea bass on either side of fish. Season each slit with salt, pepper and 1 tablespoon oil. In a bowl toss together julienned vegetables, walnuts, chervil leaves, vinegar and walnut oil; season to taste. Grill fish for 5 minutes, moving them around a few times to keep from sticking. Fillet fish: Starting at top, insert your knife at top fin. Meat should separate easily from bones as you work your way down the fish. Mound generous portion of slaw on 2 dinner plates and set 2 fillets on top of each; garnish with chervil sprigs.

Roasted cabbage with lemon garlic dressing
I grew up eating a lot of cabbage: kupus salata (vinegar coleslaw), sarma (pickled cabbage filled with meat and rice), and podvarak (baked sauerkraut with pork). I love cabbage. Cabbage needs time and love to taste good.
This is an easy, delicious, hands-off cabbage recipe. It takes 5 minutes of work and you throw it in the oven for an hour. You’re rewarded with soft-crispy cabbage that melts in your mouth. The gremolata – a condiment made from parsley, lemon, and garlic – adds a beautiful brightness to the dish that makes it addictive. I’ve eaten a whole head of cabbage this way and I’m not ashamed.
This recipe takes 1 hour, but you’re mostly waiting, and can easily be doubled or tripled.

▢1-2 Tbsp water

▢1 Tbsp Dijon Mustard
▢1 Tbsp Balsamic vinegar
▢6 Tbsp flavorless oil - avocado oil is my favorite
FOR LEMON POPPY SEED DRESSING 0:46
▢6 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
▢1 Tbsp Dijon mustard
▢1 Tbsp poppy seeds
▢1 Tbsp honey
▢1 lemon
▢sea salt
FOR GREEK YOGURT DRESSING 2:49
▢2 Tbsp mayonnaise - preferably homemade
▢2 Tbsp plain Greek yogurt
▢1 tsp Dijon mustard
▢2 Tbsp water
▢sea salt
▢pepper
▢1/4 cup chopped fresh herbs - basil parsley cilantro dill - or a mix of them
FOR CITRUS BASIL DRESSING 2:00
▢1 cup basil leaves
▢1 Tbsp Dijon mustard
▢3 Tbsp flavorless oil - avocado oil is my favorite
▢1 orange
▢1 lime
▢sea salt
▢pepper
FOR PEANUT SALAD DRESSING 3:36
▢2 Tbsp unsweetened smooth peanut butter
▢1 tsp grated ginger
▢1 tsp grated garlic
▢1 Tbsp soy sauce
▢1 tsp sesame oil
▢1 lime
▢1-2 Tbsp water
INSTRUCTIONS
Maple Mustard, Greek Yogurt, Lemon Poppy Seed, and Peanut salad dressings simply add ingredients to a sealable jar and shake to combine.
Cilantro Lime and Citrus Basil Dressings add ingredients to a jar wide enough to fit your immersion blender and blend until smooth.
