How to make Gujrati Dal? Today i'm going to share with you how to make Gujrati Dal in Marathi. easy to make Gujrati Dal.

*Ingredients :-
150 gm Cooked Toor dal
1 Glass Hot Water
1/2 tbsp Turmeric powder
1/2 tbsp Ginger paste
1 tbsp Cumin and Coriander Seeds powder
Salt to taste
Jaggery
1 tbsp Oil
2 inch piece of cinnamon
4 Cloves
1/2 Small tbsp Methi dana
1 tbsp Cumin and Mustard Seeds
A Pinch Hing / Asafetida
3 Green chilli Chopped
Curry Leaves
1 Tomato Chopped
1 Kashmiri mirch
1/2 tbsp Kashmiri mirch powder
3 tbsp Tamarind Water
Coriander Leaves

Surti Dal | सुरती दाल | Gujarati Khatti Meethi Dal | Gujarati Recipe | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana
You can slurp and spoon it too. The Surti dal of Gujarat is sweet, spicy, tangy and flavoured with curry leaves and is delicious.
SURTI DAL
Ingredients
1 cup split pigeon peas (toovar dal) ,soaked with ½ tsp fenugreek seeds for 30 minutes and drained
¾ tsp turmeric powder
1 sprig of curry leaves
2 tsps + 2 tbsps oil
¾ tsp red chilli powder
¼ cup chopped jaggery
Salt to taste
2 tbsps tamarind pulp
½ cup boiled peanuts
½ tsp mustard seeds
¼ tsp fenugreek seeds
5 dried red chilies, stemmed
1 tbsp gram flour (besan)
A pinch of cinnamon powder
2-3 tbsps chopped fresh coriander leaves
Fresh coriander sprig for garnish
Jeera rice to serve
Method
1. Transfer dal in pressure cooker; add ½ tsp turmeric powder, curry leaves, 2 tsps oil, and 2 cups water.
2. Cover the lid and cook on medium heat till the pressure is released 4-5 times.
3. Open the pressure cooker once the pressure settles completely.
4. Add ½ tsp red chilli powder, jaggery, tamarind pulp, peanuts and mix well.
5. Heat remaining oil in a deep pan. Add mustard seeds and once they start to splutter, add fenugreek seeds, dried red chilies, asafoetida, gram flour cook for a minute.
6. Lower the heat add remaining turmeric powder, remaining red chilli powder, cinnamon powder, mix well.
7. Add the cooked dal mixture, 2 cups water and mix well. Cook for 4-5 minutes on medium heat.
8. Once the mixture comes to a boil, add coriander leaves and mix well.
9. Transfer in a serving bowl, garnish with coriander sprig and serve hot with jeera rice.

Gujarati Toovar Dal
A satiating dal with an interesting sweet, little spicy and tangy flavour, the Gujarati Toovar Dal is a homely dish that will remind you of mom any time, any where! A tempering of whole spices adds a lot of punch to this dal recipe, while tomatoes add enough tang and jaggery imparts a pleasant sweetness to it. Despite its simplicity and homeliness, the Gujarati Toovar Dal has a well-rounded and exciting flavour – so much so that a bowl of rice or a couple of rotis with a cup of this dal will make a nice, satisfying meal!
Preparation Time: 10 minutes.
Cooking Time: 30 minutes.
Serves 4.
½ cup toovar (arhar) dal, washed and drained
½ tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
2 sliced green chillies
¼ tsp finely chopped ginger (adrak)
¼ cup chopped tomatoes
¼ cup chopped jaggery
Salt to taste
1 tbsp oil
1 tsp mustard seeds (rai / sarson)
½ tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
2 cloves (laung/lavang)
1 small stick cinnamon (dalchini)
4 to 5 curry leaves (kadi patta)
¼ tsp asafoetida (hing)
½ tsp chilli powder
2 tsp lemon juice
2 tbsp finely chopped coriander (dhania)
For serving
Roti / Rice
1. Combine the toovar dal and 1½ cups of water in a pressure cooker, mix well and pressure cooker for 3 whistles.
2. Allow the steam to escape before opening the lid.
3. Add 1 cup of water to the cooked toovar dal and blend it using a hand blender to a smooth mixture.
4. Transfer the mixture into a deep non-stick pan, add the turmeric powder, green chillies, ginger, tomatoes, jaggery, 1½ cups of water and salt, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 10 minutes, while stirring occasionally.
5. Meanwhile, heat the oil in a small broad non-stick pan, add the mustard seeds and cumin seeds.
6. When the seeds crackle, add the cloves, cinnamon and curry leaves and sauté on a medium flame for a few seconds.
7. Switch off the flame, add the asafoetida, chilli powder, mix well and immediately add it to the boiling dal.
8. Mix the dal well and continue cooking on a medium flame for 4 to 5 minutes, while stirring occasionally.
9. Add the lemon juice and coriander, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 1 to 2 minutes, while stirring occasionally.
Serve hot with roti or rice.

* 3/4 કપ બાસમતી ચોખા
* 2 ગ્લાસ પાણી
* મીઠું સ્વાદ પ્રમાણે
* 1 લવિંગ
* 1 તજ નો ટુકડો
* 1 ટી સ્પૂન ઘી
દાળ બાફવા :
* 1/2 કપ તુવેરની દાળ
* 1 ગ્લાસ પાણી
* મીઠું સ્વાદ પ્રમાણે
* ચપટી હળદર
* 1 ટી સ્પૂન ઘી
દાળ નો વઘાર કરવા :
* 1 ટે સ્પૂન તેલ
* 1 ટી સ્પૂન ઘી
* 2 લવિંગ
* 1 નાનુ બાદીયું
* 1 તજ નો ટુકડો
* 1 તમાલપત્ર
* 1 સુકુ લાલ મરચું
* 1 લીલુ મરચું
* 1/2 ટી સ્પૂન રાઈ
* 1/2 ટી સ્પૂન જીરુ
* 1/4 ટી સ્પૂન હીંગ
* 1/2 ટી સ્પૂન આચાર મસાલા
* 1/2 ટી સ્પૂન લાલ મરચું પાવડર
* 1 ગ્લાસ પાણી
* 3 ટે સ્પૂન સીંગદાણા
* 1/2 ઝીણું સુધારેલું ટામેટું
* 3 ટે સ્પૂન કાચી કેરીના ટુકડા
* 2 ટે સ્પૂન ગોળ
* 2 ટે સ્પૂન કુણી ડાંડલી સહિત કોથમીર
* 1 નાનો આદુનો ટુકડો
* 2-3 ટે સ્પૂન કોથમીર
