EASY OXTAIL KARE-KARE RECIPE (exact ingredients below)
Kare-Kare is a Philippine stew cooked with a thick savory peanut sauce. It is usually variation of oxtail, ox tripe, pork hocks, calves feet, pig feet, beef, seafood and vegetables. In this video I used oxtail along with some vegetables. Kare Kare is not complete without a bagoong ( sauteed shrimp paste). Serve it with freshly steamed white rice.
Ingredients:
5 cloves garlic
1 medium-sized onion
800g oxtail
1/2 tsp ground pepper
1 tbsp fish sauce
water (enough to submerge the meat, add more if necessary)
3 tsp annatto oil
3/4 cup peanut butter
1 & 1/2 tsp glutinous flour
1/4 cup commercial salted peanuts
1 bundle boiled string beans
3 pcs fried eggplant
1 small-sized boiled banana heart
1 & 1/2 tsp sauteed shrimp paste
