1 1/4 c Sugar
8 oz Butter; melted
1 tb Cold water
1/2 ts Vanilla extract

Add butter and water and blend into egg mixture. Refrigerate for 30 minutes. Heat the krumkake iron. Grease lightly for the first cookie only. Pour a small amount of batter, about a tablespoon, into the iron and bake until golden brown. Immediately form into cones around a wooden cone shape or drape over cups to form cookie bowls. Cool on rack. Makes about 35 to 40 cookies. Serve alone or with fruit and whipped cream or ice cream. Source: Norwegian Seamen's Church; 1772 Prytania Street, New Orleans, La. -----

Krumkake Without the Iron
batter:
1 large egg or 2 smaller eggs
57 gr sugar
beat well
add 2 TBS melted butter
beat some more
add 45 gr flour mix well with 1 teaspoon starch such as tapioca or cornstarch then add slowly into the batter and mix well
add 3-5 TBS of cooking oil or water or milk if it's too thick
I found that the thicker batter is harder to work with.
heat teflon pan on low heat number 2 (if number 10 is the highest on your stove)
also heated the smaller sauce pan filled with rocks on number 2 or low heat.
every stove is different so adjust accordingly but for sure be cautious for fire and burn. Disclaimer that I am not responsible for anything here.
place 1 tsp batter into the teflon pan that has been sprayed with nonstick oil or wipe with paper towel and oil.
covered batter right away with parchment paper and right away place the heated sauce pan filled with rocks on them
don't add more pressure on them, those rocks will do the job
you can adjust the amount of rocks in them later.
in 30 seconds to 1 minutes when it's brown you can folded them and when you get the hang of it one day you could try rolling them which is harder and hotter on your hand to touch.
let them cool and hardened in 5-10 minutes before eating
