How To make Pancit
1/4 c Cooking oil
2 Garlic cloves, minced
1 Onion, minced
1 c Meat, boiled (pork,
-chicken, or shrimp) 1 lg Carrot, cut into
-thin strips 1 sm Cabbage, shredded
3 tb Soy sauce
3 tb Broth
1 Celery, bunch
8 oz Rice sticks
-or wheat noodles 1 ts Salt
1 ts MSG
1 Spring onion, chopped
Saute garlic in cooking oil. Add onions, meat, carrot and cabbage. Season with soy sauce and fry for 2 more minutes. Add broth and simmer, then add celery. When vegetables are cooked, add rice sticks or noodles and season with salt and MSG. Garnish with spring onions. Serve with lemon. NOTES: * Filipino cabbage in garlic and soy sauce -- I got this from Lynne Fitzsimmons who got it from a Filipino friend of her mother's. * You will need a big frying pan to fit all the ingredients. You may leave out the salt and MSG if you like. FILIPINO PANCIT BIHON RECIPE
Pancit bihon is a classic Filipino noodle dish which is guaranteed to be found at every party or celebration. It is thought that eating long noodles during an important life event will bring good luck or signify long life. Bihon noodles is made of cornstarch and rice flour. It is stir fried with a mix of vegetable and protein (usually pork, shrimp, or chicken). It is tossed in a soy sauce/oyster sauce base and drizzled with citrus juice. Traditionally, calamansi juice is used, but lemon juice will suffice and give it that nice citrusy zing. I hope you enjoy my recipe. If you decide to try my recipe, please tag me. INGREDIENTS:
1 (8 OZ) PACK OF BIHON NOODLES
1 LB SHRIMP, PEELED AND DEVEINED
1 LB DICED PORK SHOULDER
2 TBSP MINCED GARLIC
1 CUP THINLY SLICED ONIONS
1 CUP JULIENNED CARROTS
1/2 HEAD OF CABBAGE, SHREDDED
1 CUP SLICED GREEN BEANS
3 TBSP OYSTER SAUCE
3 TSP CHICKEN BOUILLON
1-2 TBSP DARK SOY SAUCE
3 CUPS WATER
SALT AND PEPPER

-1 and 1/2Tbsp knorr liquid seasoning
-3Tbsp soy sauce
-6Tbsp oyster sauce
-2pcs sliced carrots
-half of a cabbage sliced
-added about 2 and 1/2Cup water (add more water if needed)
