I love vintage desserts, and I know you'll love this easy scotcheroos recipe. If you've never had them, this 1960s recipe will knock your socks off! They're peanut buttery, chocolately, chewy, and crispy at the same time. This is the original scotcheroos recipe, but you can double the chocolate and butterscotch chips to make them extra special!
Combine sugar and corn syrup in a heavy saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently until mixture boils. Remove from heat. Stir in peanut butter. Mix well until combined. Add rice krispies and stir until cereal is coated with peanut butter mixture. Press rice krispies into a well buttered 9x13 inch pan. Set aside and allow to cool. In a microwave safe bowl, combine chocolate chips and butterscotch chips. Microwave at 30 second intervals, stirring after each one, until chips are melted and smooth. Spread over rice krispies mixture. Place in refrigerator until chocolate is set.
