This recipe is literally the best waffles I've ever had. Crispy on the outside, and the inside is moist, tender, and light and airy...everything you want in a waffle! You can have them sweet, or use them in a savoury application like chicken and waffles. I've been making these over 8 years and still love them as much today! They're also easy to do ahead, so an indulgent breakfast doesn't have to take long!

BELGIAN WAFFLE RECIPE
Ingredients
250g | 2 Cups Flour
1 Tablespoon Baking Powder
½ Teaspoon Salt
2 Tablespoons Sugar
2 Eggs, separated
80ml | ⅓ Cup Oil
500ml | 2 Cups Milk
1 Teaspoon Vanilla
Instructions
Sieve the dry ingredients into a large sized mixing bowl. Mix with a whisk so everything is evenly combined.
Seperate the two eggs, placing the yolks into the bowl with the dry ingredients and the whites into a clean bowl.
Measure out the oil, vanilla, and milk and pour into the bowl with the dry ingredients. Give this a mix with a whisk until there is no longer any dry flour.
Use a hand mixer or a whisk to whip the egg whites to stiff peaks. Fold the egg whites into the batter until well combined.
Heat a waffle iron and spray with oil or brush on some melted butter.
Measure out around ¾ of a cup of batter and pour into the waffle iron. Leave to cook for 5-10 minutes until browned and crispy.
Serve with berries, whipped cream and maple syrup.
Notes
These waffles are best served straight out of the waffle iron. To keep them crispy, place the waffles in a single layer on a cooling rack and into a 180c|350f oven until you are ready to serve.

Professional Baker Teaches You How To Make WAFFLES!
Chef Anna Olson makes shows you how to make amazing buttermilk waffles from scratch! These big, homemade waffles can be made with chocolate chips if you choose, and topped with maple syrup and fresh berries for garnish.
Subscribe for more video recipes:
Ingredients
1 ½ cups (225 g) all-purpose flour
2 Tbsp (25 g) granulated sugar
1 Tbsp (9 g) baking powder
½ tsp (2.5 g) fine salt
1 ¼ cups (310 mL) buttermilk
½ cup (125 mL) vegetable oil
2 large eggs, separated
1 cup (175 g) chocolate chips (optional)
Maple syrup and fresh berries, for serving
Directions
1. For the waffles, stir the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt together. In a separate bowl, whisk the buttermilk, oil and egg yolks together. Add this to the dry mixture and stir gently until blended (but, like pancake batter, a few lumps are OK).
2. In another bowl, whisk the 2 egg whites (by hand or with electric beaters) until they hold a soft peak when the whisk or beaters are lifted. Fold these gently into the batter. Stir in the chocolate chips, if using.
3. Preheat your waffle iron according to instructions. Lightly grease the iron (if requested in the instructions) and ladle batter to fill the iron once closed (the first waffle is your test as to how much batter to use). Cook the waffle until lightly browned at crisp, and remove. Repeat with the remaining batter. You can make the waffles ahead of time and re-warm (oven, grill or toaster – not the microwave), since they are best served warm. Served drizzled with maple syrup and topped with fresh berries.

Easy Waffle Recipe for One - Crisp Golden Waffle
See just how quick and easy it is to make crisp, golden and delicious waffles for one person. No need to make a big batch, this waffle recipe serves up the perfect amount!
???? RECIPE ⬇️⬇️ & Printable Recipe ➡️
???? INGREDIENTS
1 large egg
½ cup milk (you may use cows milk, almond milk, soy milk, or coconut milk)
¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon salted butter , melted
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
½ cup all purpose flour
½ teaspoon baking powder
⅛ teaspoon salt
???? INSTRUCTIONS
1) Preheat waffle iron. Spray with non stick cooking spray or brush with melted butter.
Beat the egg in a bowl until fluffy. Add the milk, vanilla, melted butter, and sugar and mix well.
2) Whisk in the flour, baking powder, and salt and mix gently until combined. Do not overmix.
3) Pour the batter on the iron and close it. Depending on the size of your waffle maker, you might have too much batter. If so, use the little bit of remaining batter to make a second, smaller waffle.
4) Cook the waffle until the waffle iron's indicator light shows that cooking is complete, or until no more steam comes out. The waffle should be golden brown and crisp.
5) Lift the waffle out of the waffle iron with a pair of tongs and enjoy right away.
???? Expert Tips
A) Be sure to read the instruction manual for your waffle maker. Different waffle makers are designed to cook waffles differently.
B) Be careful not to overmix the batter. Mix the batter gently until smooth.
C) Wait for the indicator light to turn on, letting you know it is at the right temperature, before pouring the batter onto the iron.
D) Don't lift the lid of your waffle maker too soon. Wait until the waffle maker says it's okay to open the lid. As a general rule, once the steam stops coming out of the unit, the waffle should be done. Lifting the lid too soon can cause the waffle to stick to the plates.
E) Waffles are, of course, wonderful for breakfast but they can also be perfect for dessert too. Consider topping a warm waffle with fruit and a dollop of whipped cream. Sliced bananas, strawberries, or berries of any kind seem to elevate it. Take it a step further and drizzle hot fudge sauce over the top and you've got one amazing dessert.
F) If you're interested something more savory, consider making chicken and waffles. Although I'm not a huge fan of fried chicken, crispy baked chicken is fantastic paired with this recipe.
G) For this waffle recipe, I use a Belgian waffle maker and can make one waffle. The waffle maker you use might be a bit smaller. If so, you will likely have a small amount of batter left over. Use the batter to make a second smaller waffle.
