Ingredients
2 lb (900 g) apples, peeled and sliced
2 Tbsp (30 mL) lemon juice
2 Tbsp (37 g) honey
2 Tbsp (30 g) butter, melted
Pinch of salt
Directions
1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Toss the sliced apples with the lemon juice, honey, melted butter and salt to coat well. Spread in a large ungreased casserole or other ceramic baking dish (the apples can overlap) and roast, uncovered and stirring occasionally, until the apples are fork-tender, about 40 minutes. Allow the apples to cool to room temperature.
3. Purée the cooled apples in a food processor or blender. If the apple- sauce is too thick (this will depend on the apple variety), add 1/4 to1/2 cup (60 to 125 mL) of water as you blend. Chill the applesauce until ready to serve

The Perfect Crockpot Applesauce Recipe - For UNDER $5
I care about what my family eats and what we put into our bodies. While shopping for applesauce, I couldn't find anything that didn't have high-fructose corn syrup, food coloring, or artificial flavors, so I decided to make my own! This simple applesauce recipe only uses 1/4 cup of sugar, but is not lacking in deliciously sweet applesauce flavor.
The Recipe:
A handful of apples, peeled and cored
1/4 cup of sugar
1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
3/4 cup of water
Place all ingredients into the crockpot. Stir to combine. Cook on low for 6 hours, or on high for 3 hours. Mash cooked apple mixture in a food processor or with a potato masher. Pour sauce into a container and enjoy warm or refrigerate overnight.
I like to put my applesauce on waffles and pancakes instead of syrup. It adds the sweetness that waffles and pancakes deserve without being too sweet. It also adds the perfect amount of moisture to combat any dryness that your pancakes might suffer from. Basically, it is the answer to a delicious breakfast meal.
