How To make Boiled Custard Eggnog
1 1/2 c Sugar
1/4 c Flour
1/8 ts Salt
8 Egg yolks
6 c Milk
2 c Light cream
1 ts Vanilla extract
1/8 ts Nutmeg
1 1/2 c Whiskey (optional)
Mix sugar, flour, and salt in heavy 6-qt saucepan. Add egg yolks and mix well. Using wire whisk, stir egg mixture and slowly pour in milk and cream. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until custard is thickened and just coats the back of a wooden spoon. Remove from heat and let cool. The custard will thicken as it cools. When cold, stir in vanilla, nutmeg, and whiskey.

Ingredients
2 Cups whole milk
4 medium eggs
1/4 to 1/2 Cup sugar
Dash of salt
2 teaspoons vanilla
Instructions
Bring milk to full simmer but do not boil. Use a double boiler. Beat eggs, add sugar. Pour 2/3 milk slowly into beaten eggs. Set remaining milk back on double boiler. Then stir eggs and milk mixture slowly into hot milk, stir. Take off heat when mixture begins to thicken. Add vanilla OR use coconut flavoring and stir in a cup of coconut when you take of heat. Pour into baked pie shell for coconut pie. Top with whipped cream.
